Celebrate You

I am looking forward to the Easter break and two weeks off from my workshops . May be in two weeks I can organise my time and finish tidying my room . I also would like to have some extra kits made up in advance . Not too old to dream !!
But  firstly I  must voice my Easter greetings.
I wish, for all my veiwers , the most Joyous of Easters. A safe Easter break. May there be time for reflection on just how lucky we are.

Today I  used the sponge block again . This time for a little resist technique.
Cardstock..Soft Suede, Choc Chip,  DSP ' Autumn Traditions'
                        White Gloss card,
Stamps...   A Little Birthday Cheer, Oganic Grace.
Inks...         Pink Piroette, Soft Suede, Basic Brown
Accessories... white crayon,  bow template , [ Hot of the Press]
brad, paper snips and tiny flower embellishment
                       Stampin Dimensials
I stamped the image on white gloss card  and  , when dry , I drew over it with white crayon. Then using the sponge block I stamped over image with Pink Pirouette. When that was dry I rubbed over it with tissue to take off wax . The base card is from the Soft Suede with DSP on front .  I  placed a narrow strip of  DSP from the top to part way down . I matted the image onto choc chip card and adhered it over strip with stampin dimensials. The greeting was matted onto choc chip card trimmed to small border and using SD. placed below image . With the bow adhered on bottom of image the card is finished .
I like it , hope you do too. Thanks for checking in . Will you leave a comment because I enjoy visiting you too.
Cheers Shirley-Anne

New Colour

This new SU colour , Soft Suede , is even  more beautiful in the "flesh" , than in the Autumn / Winter Catty pictures.
I think that it is a softer colour than brown or choc chip .
I have used it here as my card base with DSP , SU
" Autumn Traditions"
Some SU ribbon , over which I have placed an image of leaves from SU set ' Organic grace' inked onto Whisper White , embossed card , which has been adhered to some scrap green .
The greeting at base of card is from SU ' Heard From The Heart'.
I used 3 flower embellishments joined together with brad over leaves .

Hope you think it worth sharing .
Please , if you have time , leave a comment so that I can visit you too.
                 Cheers Shirley-Anne

Make Time

I really enjoyed creating this card tonight .
A combination of Rub-ons and flower embellishments and the stamp set 'Sense of Time SU
on a pink card with DSP , Tea Party ,SU
Ink used was Bravo Burgundy .
I have shown enlarged  area of front to show words which ,I think,  I appreciate as I am retired and have plenty of time .
Then I chose to decorate  inside  of card as shown with words from Hero Arts and I thought the greeting really related to front .

Hope  that you like this card . Thank you for browsing and please take a moment to leave a comment so I know where to find you .
Cheers Shirley-Anne

A card for mother

Went back to old card making  programmes I have on my computer tonight , trawling for inspiration. Found this little image and came up with this card .
Just used what was on my bench here . Confetti White and Garden green  card stock  and  DSP , SU.
Ribbon and flowers with brads  embellishments and Aussie stamps&crafts greeting.
My time management skills are a bit rusty as I had wanted to do more with sponging blocks....ahhh well always another day!

Sponging Blocks

Only one card today . Too many things on , visitors and shopping , washing and ironing . But that's ok , life's good !
Love these blocks . I think there will be ideas a plenty over the weekend .
Here I have inked and stamped a Regal Rose rectangle then masked it . Stamping two others 'behind' in Old Olive and Baja Breeze. lower corner greeting in Purely Pomegranate is from " A Little Birthday Cheer"
To finish off  I adhered a flower embellishment .
Tomorrow I'd like to try wrapping something around the block before inking and seeing what the result will be like .
So check back tomorrow night and hopefully I'll have something to share .
Cheers till next time . Shirley-Anne

Another White Gloss Card

Last card  for the night . Recently  I attended a craft fair where I bought some Stylish Sponging Blocks . They are just wooden blocks like ones you use to put  your stamp rubber on but these have a foamy spongy material on them .
First time user of them so not sure how this would turn out .    Inked with Brocade Blue and stamped slightly askew on white Gloss card with fold at top .
I stamped flower from set  Bloomin' With Beauty onto Whisper White card using Markers to colour. I then cut it out with Paper Snips and adhered it to card over the blue colour. The greeting in same blue is from set Sincere Salutations.
Might experiment more with this sponging block tomorrow . In the meantime , a pleasant night to you .
Cheers Shirley-Anne

Inspired

Here you are Alisa ! Your card inspired me and I have created this to show and share . I added ribbon , stamped image twice and cut out the letter F and 3D it over 1st image and I used a large brad by cutting off legs and used Stampin Dimensials to adhere it to card front . And of course you will see that I  used different DSP and Certainly Celery strip. I inked the flourish in Rich Razzleberry for more dramatic visual.
Hope every one likes it .
Cheers Shirley-Anne

Floral Birthday Wishes

Hi there ,hope that your week has bought you  plenty of  joy and that there was some  time for a little creating .  I have a busy few days ahead with visitors and the usual home duties [ which I must admit to neglecting due to new activity of blog hopping ] And , I have a few cards I need to make for classes and give aways. Any way,  as is my practice,  after I made this first card yesterday I placed it on my desk , where I could  assess   it  for a while . Well,  the more I looked at this card,  the more I thought it needed  just a little more . So I took it back to my work area and did just that!
I added another two flowers and some little centres to all the flowers . Satisfaction achieved . Now,  I can  put in  an insert  and  bag the card.  Recipe is as follows.

Cardstock...White gloss and Whisper White SU
   Stamps...Vintage Vogue, Sincere Salutations, SU
Inks...    Garden Green, Melon Mambo and Baja Breeze , SU.
Accessories...self adhesive black Pearls and Stamp-a-ma-jig, SU
I think the added bits definately improved the card. even though it is still quite simple,  clean and crisp . I would love to see what you think.  catch you soon . Shirley-Anne

Was a bit up tight today as our financial advisor came to set up our  changing finances as I am now officially an aged pensioner . Wow , I can understand why some choose to place their money under the bed! So I came into my room to de -stress and to soothe my soul.
I love this set, Friends 24-7,  from SU . Will have to try and bottle what ever it is that calms me so easily in my room because I'm sure I'd make a fortune.

collage card

Hi there, thanks for popping in today.
Last night I tried another challenge for myself. I wanted to try a stamp collage card . As I have said 100 x before I find it hard to add more than two or three items on a card. So I gathered some stamps together that I thought " went together " with the card stock and paper I had chosen.
And here is the resulting card.
I used Bashful Blue card and dsp from Bella Blue, SU
Inks were Baja Breeze and Brilliant Blue , SU
The music  image  , from Vintage Collage [ TJ Designs]  was second generation stamped onto unknown sourced  pale blue rectangle piece. Over that I stamped postage mark and bird from Song Birds of same company.
Wishes greeting is from set  ' Heard From The Heart' , SU . And the small flower images are from ' Cottage Garden '  set from SU.
I adhered this onto card front with Stampin' Dimensionals .
Added embellishments of ribbon and flower were about all I could manage , before I felt this was almost too much .
I am actually happy to share this creation . May be,  you might have a tip or two that you can  pass on to me about collage, to help with my next stamp collage card.
Cheers for now , Shirley-Anne

Always fun on Tuesdays

For me, Tuesdays are a fun day and I thank the ladies who join me at my table . We have 2 1/2 hours of fun and laughter and only just manage to complete the three cards I set each week  here are next Tuesday's projects

" Friends "  Starting off with card , Brilliant Blue , Real Red and Whisper White, SU.            Ink was Pacific point, SU.  Ribbon source unknown . reversible dot paper is from Cristina Re' and the stamp set is from Vintage Vogue SU.   And the scallop square punch SU.

This layout was taken from a card seen in Vol. 15 NO. 12
of the Cardmaking Stamping & papercraft magazine .

I just adore  the new punch that SU . has introduced Extra large two step bird"    in the  autumn-winter mini catalogue . Here I  have used it  on  black cardstock SU. The scallop square from Whisper White SU and the card from Real Red. The reversible dot paper is from Cristina Re'.   The greeting is from set  " Pendant Park" SU.   I used a white pencil to outline the bird's wing , chest  and to draw an eye on the bird.

This layout was inspired by item in same magazine as above .

The last card is another quick card .  Using Whisper White , Basic Black and Brilliant Blue from SU.  Inks used were Pacific Point  and Basic Brown.
The greeting is from set, " Birthday Block". I love this
stamp as   it would  be just at home on the insert of the card.
The bird [fowl?] is from "Autumn Days ".
The new clear mount rubber stamps from SU are so easy to use and store .
Cant wait to start a new collection

Hope that you like these cards . Thank you for browsing , I know your visit is counted and thats greatly appreciated ...BUT it is really encouraging when one reads about what aspect of the card you appreciated most. Not only that ,  I get to be able to visit you too.

Another for Mother

It may be a holiday here in SA,  but as most women will know,  there will always be mundane duties to perform regardless. Happily there was time this afternoon to make one more card . This one was a really quick card.    The card is black from SU , the reversable  paper is from Christina Re. The image, Heather-E-196HK,  and words, from Hero Arts,  are on Whisper White SU. I used SU markers to colour.  Do you see what I meant when I said , on an earlier post here, that I dont embellish much on my cards ?
Any way hope you found my blog interesting and thank you for browsing .

Mother's Day soon

Still have not returned to tidying my room!
Ha, well , no matter, always another day.
Still,  using what is on my desk here,  I had enough to make one more card . This time for Mother's Day .
Cardstock;  Chocolate chip , Bashful Blue and more Mustard
from SU, along with the Parisian Breeze Specialty Designer Series Paper.
Ink; Chocolate Chip and Brocade Blue, SU.
Stamps;  Aussie Stamps&crafts and Heather G-129-HK
Ribbon , unknown source.

Now I don't have a Mother to share the day with or send a card to but I do need to make some more for a shop and my bank staff so I had better get a move on . But not tonight , too late now .

Hope that you like this one
Catch you again soon ,  Shirley-Anne

Vintage style

Hello,
Today I began to tidy my room . But , again , I was sidetracked by some scrappy bits of paper . This happens quite often  with me . As I have been card making for a while now , It has come to be,  that I have mountains of paper and embellishments which are not in their original packaging. So   this card on show today will have minimum description as I have forgotten many sources.
I can say for the first "thinking of you " card shown , I used punches from  SU. and the greeting from set, Priceless, SU.
Wooden Flourishes and flowers are my favourite embellishments and the only ones I am confident enough to use .

For the next card it's easier to give a recipe .
I used Kraft card  , SU, as base and the background is Parisian Breeze Specialty designer series paper.
The greeting is from the set Whimsical Words from the  SU Sale-a-bration catalogue,  inked with basic brown , SU.
The flowers from SU accents, Flower Fusion and the ribbon from SU Ribbon Originals , ' Dress Up'.

Hope you like todays creations enough to leave a comment so I can visit you.

Catch you again soon ,

Another travelling journal

I received another travelling journal the other day .
I had to wait untill I had some photos taken and printed before finishing my  pages. A while ago I packed up all our photo albums and sent them to
our Daughter . So I do not have any of our family
or ourselves here at all .
Any way , here is Andre's journal cover .
Stunning , I thought.

Now here is my first page .
Actually,  it has been a blessing in disguise for me to be involved with this project as I get to have current photos taken . I don't know about other husbands but getting a photo of my Doug is like finding teeth in a chook!
And this one was taken only a few days ago out the front of a small cafe we visit for coffee . Doug and I gopher [ I walk] about 6 or so ks every day for coffee and shopping . Just in front of Doug  on the gopher is our dog , Jacki, who comes with us .

Another good thing about participating is that I get to scrapbook , something I don't do much. Adding bling and more than one embellishment is something I find challenging  as well.

For the 2nd page I used vellum and my PC to write a short message . I layered that onto Lavender card stock with brads. I had some vintage paper [unknown source ] to cover page first and then added a couple of flower embellishments

This is really a fun thing to do .

Can't wait for the next journal to arrive .

Hope you like these entries  and find them interesting . Please leave comment so I can visit you too.

A mixed bag tonight

Hello, and welcome.  I had fun completing these cards .
And I am happy the way they turned out so am sharing them tonight.

Having said that, I must admit to taking too long in their completion.
I don’t know how any one can actually complete any
creations once they have discovered blog sites !
One can spend hours browsing on craft blogs .
Well , I can ...and do. But thankfully I have completed
my three make and takes for next week. And here they are …

My first , “ friendship”  is from page 21 of the
 08/09 Idea book & catalogue.
I know this is a retired set and it was a level 2 Hostess gift
but I love it and still use it .

Recipe; Card stock- Chocolate Chip ,
Mello Moss, Baja Breeze, Apricot Appeal,
More mustard and Whisper White. All SU

Inks;- SU . Creamy Caramel, Garden Green.

Stamps;- SU. Itty Bitty Backgrounds, Wonderful Words and Infinite
Goodness. All retired .

The 2nd card is derived from a card I saw on
 this Splitcoaststampers.com
http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/1451541
 by Aunt Boo.
I do love white cards with minimum
embellishments so here is my effort.
For the flowers I dragged each ink  colour
over whisper white cardstock
then punched out flowers.
Recipe;— Card stock;- Glossy White ,
               Whisper White. SU

Inks;- Pumpkin Pie, Garden Green,
Summer Sun and Lavender Lace. SU

Stamps;- Hello Again and Priceless. SU

Accessories;- Punch , Spring Flower Bouquet.
                   Crystal Stickers
                      Stampin’ Dimensionals
                   Stamp-a-ma-jig.

My 3rd card was chosen because I wanted to
demonstrate  Rock & Roll  stamping technique.
And , thinking out side the square ,
I used The scalloped edged rectangle as
the background for the parcels.  Firstly inking image with Baja Breeze, then rolled the edges onto Pacific Point ink pad.

Recipe ;-cardstock;-
             Whisper White

Inks;- Baja Breeze and Pacific Point SU

Stamps;- Framed With Love and Happy Moments

Accessories;- Markers , Stampin’ Dimensionals SU

Hope that you like these quick cards tonight .
Now that's done I can go back to blog hopping .
Catch you again soon .
