On your special day

Hi there crafty pals , welcome to my room .
Thank you for calling in .

I have been making a kit ,today, for the new year workshops . My friends are avid experienced card makers so it is not as though I am actually teaching anything .Instead I  create  kits for them to make up while we chat , compare new purchases and   share news  about our lives  generally.

Among my card stash I found lots of SU  note cards which I mostly use as thank you cards but because I do have a lot , I am making a few small cards as birthday cards .

With this one I have used 6''x6'' DSP from the Brights pack and covered the front
Then I added a panel   of lighter blue card with a smaller white panel for image and sentiment .
Both the image and the sentiments are from retired SU  sets .
Water coloured the image  using SU inks
Just added a few candy dots for interest .

There was a good sized piece of the paper left so I used it for the inside of card with a die cut label for greeting .

I do hope that you enjoyed my share today . I do appreciate comments if you would care to leave   one I will return the visit .

Make New Year's goals. Dig within, and discover what you would like to have happen in your life this year. This helps you do your part. It is an affirmation that you're interested in fully living life in the year to come.

Catch you again soon , cheers for now , Shirley-Anne .

Birthday wishes

Hello visitors .Thank you for calling in .
Welcome to my room where I am happy to share some time with you .Still getting the blogging groove going here , trying to post on a regular basis .

I must say that I am enjoying the visits to some of my oldest fellow crafters pages ...Not that they are necessarily old in years I mean , you know but  that they have been sharing their makes for quite some time ...WHEW! I hope I got outa that one ok LOL

Adelaide ,in fact quite a large portion of Australia is , like, very hot ,sweltering in fact .Just googled  the temperature here in Adelaide and it is 43 degrees . You know , that info does not make me feel any better ...

But ,sharing my make for today will definitely raise my spirits .

This sweet card  has a SU Thick Whisper White   card base .I am using retired card Tangerine Tango and some Gingham paper from my stash as mattes for my labels and the sentiment, which is from SU  Best Bunny stamp set . The floral image is from Bloom and Grow cut with Budding Blooms dies Both SU products .
The labels once adhered together are added to card front with foam dots just so message pops a bit .
I coloured  floral spray  with SU water colour  inks  and an aqua pen .
Not one for a lot of embellishing I just added a little heart to top of label .

A challenge I will enter
http://ttcrd.blogspot.com/2019/12/anything-goes-challenge-our-last-for.html

Well that's it for today and I hope if stayed for a while that you liked my make

Catch you again soon , cheers for now , Shirley-Anne .

Coffee Break

Another year is drawing to a close . Are you happy that this year is almost over ? Has 2019 been a good year for you? Well ,we do have a couple of weeks to ponder .

Welcome to my room and thanks for popping in . I have another simple card to share today and I hope you like it .
One of my New Year resolutions is to use up my retired stash of DSP and with this card I have used Coffee Break DSP . Both sides of same sheet too. I even fussy cut some of the images from the scraps
Just a normal size card  C6 .Card base of Soft Suede with a matte of Crumb Cake card . Both sides of the DSP is used for the front
The birthday sentiment is from a free set that came with a magazine and I have added some bling .

This will be for my husband for his birthday a couple of days before Christmas . Because he never sees my blog posts it will be safe to share .
We love our morning coffee .

More of the scrap of DSP strip for the bottom of the insert with some fussy cut images from same .
I will probably hand write something soppy inside depending on how I feel on the day LOL

I had a perfectly lovely afternoon , crafting , with Jane and Sandy today .We all did our own thing
as I had not made any kits for this week so there was a lot of chatter , a few laughs and cup of tea with bickies . Thanks to those fabulous friends for their company . Time well  spent with my friends will be on the list of things that I am most grateful for .

Once again thanks for calling in and do let me know you have been as I would love to return the visit .

Catch you again soon , cheers for now , Shirley-Anne .

Sailing on calm waters

Greetings and salutations to you and you .Thank you for calling in and welcome to my room .
I hope that all is well with you and yours .

Today I am sharing another card using some SU products and something old from LOTV.

I began with a 12.5 cm square Night of Navy card base ., creating a top fold card .

Adding a layer of Come Sail Away DSP I then chose  two toppers from the
Memories and More Card Pack .The first topper adhered flat while the second raised .
The sentiment is from LOTV punched out with SU circle punch [1 3/8"] then layered onto
a scrap of Night Of Navy card and punched out with another SU punch [1 1/2 "]
I left the front unadorned from bling .

Excuse the lop sided view of the inside but the stamped Whisper  White piece is not adhered yet .The small sail  yacht is from SU stamp set Sailing Home , inked with SU, Not Quite Navy.

Totally love these  coordinating elements ,Stamps  and  paper along with
Memories and More packs .

May enter a challenge

Do you know of another  appropriate  challenge ?

Once again thank you for calling in .Please do say hello so that I know you have been .

Catch you again soon , cheers for now , Shirley-Anne .

We all need fun friends

Hi there .  Welcome .

How awesome  is this ? I have missed blogging . Also missing the visits to other blogs .
Nothing boosts one's morale , lifts one's spirit or encourages one to create more than kind words from another like minded person . Bit like life in general really.

Any way , thank you to those who left comments on my last post . Now you all will be stuck with me for another season ,LOL

Today I am sharing a card using stamps that have not felt the kiss of ink for quite some time . If the sentiment seems  crooked please believe me when I say I did mean for that to be the case . My colouring has indeed suffered from  lack of practice , sad to say . BUT when I am a little disappointed with anything on my creation   I always say to myself that a blind person would be happy to see it .

This time I have used  SU thick  Whisper White  card base with a SU  Chocolate Chip mat.
Again on a layer  thick WW I inked Art Impressions " Girl Friends" set and used one of the sentiments included . On the inside I used another which reads..
" Wishing you a wonderful birthday filled with love and laughter"
This came from a freebie with a magazine and I thought that it complimented the front of the card very well .
I agonized whether or not to add embellishments and in the end I decided for just 3 enamel drops .

Thank you for calling in .

I may  join in another challenge .

Restart your engines

Hello and welcome to my blog and thank you for actually calling in .Please do let me know that you have been by leaving kind comment and I will surely visit your craft place too .

I am a bit out of practice with this blogging bit as life just got too busy and my mojo left me .I have been card making though , just not sharing except with my craft buddies Sandy and Jane at our get together s . Then  because  I began to miss blog browsing and  commenting, I plan to restart my posting and visiting. I may be at your cyber  place soon  .

To share with you today I have a creation that began with a Cajun Craze  square card base with a layer of Classic garage 6''x6'' DSP .

For the  die cut images , tools and car I used   Garage Gears dies that were bundled with the
SU  stamp set , Geared Up Garage and I coloured with copics .
The dies used for the labels for the   sentiment from the same stamp set , are Stitched Nested Labels Dies from SU .

I have a few masculine cards needed soon so this one will come in handy .

Got to my craft room late tonight so no time for cyber roaming so will catch up with that tomorrow .
Looking forward to checking out what has been going on and what treasured mini works of art have been created in my absence ..

Friendship card

Hello there craft pals . Welcome to my room and thank you for calling in .I do hope that you say hello and maybe let me know what you think of my card today

It is freezing here in Adelaide right now just 13 degrees so my mojo has frozen . I am tapping into my usual avenues of mojo inspiring /awakening like new SU stamp and die sets and pinterest , along with other SU demonstrator blogs .You would think I should hit on something that would get the craft juices flowing .

I have been playing with new stamp and die set , To A Wild Rose .

Here is the card .Please stay with me here because I would love some input from you  about the white edge around the die cut .

In the top image you can see the white edge of the flowers because I stamped onto white card .But for the leaves I used green card stock

Here is a photo of two spare flower  die cut images where I have inked the white edge .In your opinion would these have looked better on my card ?
Second opinion on the stamping now ..
The flower on the right is inked Regal Rose ink and outlined with Primrose Petals ink .
The flower on the left is inked  same but outlined with Black ink .Both flowers I like .

Of course this quandary  would not be here had the back ground been light coloured or white .

It's very important to surround yourself
with people you can learn from.

A card within a card

Hello there. Long time since I have blogged and have I  missed sharing my cards and visiting blogs  to see what you have been up to .

So here we are ..welcome to my room and thank you for calling in .

My caring role has been taking up a bit more of my time lately and I notice that I have been rushing through my card making when ever I had a few moments spare . I am sure that many of you would know how  mistakes are made when you rush through the steps of card making .and stamping .

Tonight I will share how I saved a card .

I began with Basic Black card stock base, 14cm square  . I die cut a circle apeture in the front of card . I then used Whiper White card stock for a Square 13.5cm card which I adhered to the inside  back of black card with its side fold to the outside edge . Using the same sized circle die I cut a circle from Bird Ballard DSP and adhered it to the closed white card . The way I did this so that the image was in the right position is as follows I closed  the black card , placed the die cut paper, bird image up, inside the apeture and glued  the DSP  down .

I then cut a 13.5cm square of the striped  DSP  for the front of black card . I used the next sized
die to cut a slightly larger circle then adhered it to card front . To ensure that the circles cut were aligned as required I temporally added the DSP to front of card , opened the card and using a pencil
drew a line around the apeture onto the back of the DSP  , then taking the DSP off the black card front I die cut the larger circle
using the circle I had drawn as a guide  . Thus I had a small border of black card around the birds .

After opening the white card as shown ,  and closing black card , I stamped a sentiment through the apeture , Happy Birthday .
Now here is where I began rushing to complete card and I dropped the inked  stamp. As you can see in picture below it landed ink down and left a blemish .

There is a craft saying ...There are no mistakes in card making   only opportunities for embellishing
In this instance I fussy cut a single bird from the DSP and placed it over the offending smudge .

And so my card is complete . It is an unusual fold

I have left the front bare till later .

It is a long post and I am out of practice with tutorials so if you have made it to the end , I do hope that you like the card .

Catch you again soon , cheers for now , Shirley-Anne .

A sponsor acknowledgement

Hello there , welcome to my room . Thank you for calling in .
In my previous post as DT member for TTCRD challenges I acknowledged that the sponsor for that week was Stix2anything  and because their  supplies were not received before DT post was due  I created a card from my own craft stash .
But I did say that when goodies arrived I would use these or at least some of,  in another post . here is a reminder of that kind sponsor .

So now I can share my creation . My Just For You card .

Sponsors Products used
Stix2Anything 3D foam squares to add die cut buttons for dimension .

Was worried that when I sharpened this pencil that the " special lead?" would either mash or break but it did neither .This is a great tool ! I found that if you are heavy handed when poking the pencil onto small gem it does not work as well as when you just dab point onto said gem .just a quick light dab worked a treat and gem was on and stayed on pencil .I used The Silicone Adhesive   this time for these small glass gems .

Once again thanks to the sponsor Stix2Anything for the products sent to me .

Catch you again soon , cheers for now , Shirley-Anne .

Stamp On It had it's humble beginnings in Holland MI 25+ years ago.... started out as a "home" business, soon became a storefront on the north side of Holland, grew to a 2nd store front in Grand Rapids, before closing the Holland store and enlarging the Grand Rapids one! We began doing small craft shows years ago, slowly adding rubber stamp conventions to our schedule, expanding to almost full time shows on the road before making the decision in the fall of 2009 to either close or sell the store. Before we were able to close the store, one of our employees voiced her desire to purchase the store! Long story short, we "sealed" the deal by the end of 2009 and became pretty much full-time rubber stamp convention vendors on the road. With the addition of a RV and new trailer we hit the road and attended 35 shows in 2010! In December of 2010, we traded in our first RV for a larger unit and in June, traded in our 16 ft. cargo trailer for a 20 footer capable of hauling more goodies to shows! By 2013 we traded in our 2nd RV and now travel a bit more comfortably in a 40 ft diesel RV equipped for the long hauls and our trailer has also grown to 26 ft. It has been a great adventure so far and we thoroughly enjoy the travels, conventions, and home-schooling. Please check our convention schedule to see when we will be in your "neck-of-the-woods" in 2017! Hope to see you soon... The RV Gang, Sam, Deb, Jesse, and Talia

My share for this

The new weekly ATG challenge is up and running . Thanks to the DT who provided  inspirational samples to inspire you  this week . Hope we see you here too .
Thanks to this weeks sponsor ......I could not get an image from our sponsor as I was a late DT inclusion  so I used my own SU stamp set .

The Project Bin was started because its founder, Denise Storck (a long-time stamper and paper-crafter), couldn't find a stamp that said "You are awesome sauce", so she decided to make her own!  One thing led to another, and now her small business fills a niche in the card making industry for unique word art sentiments in the highest quality photopolymer clear stamps, made in the U.S.A.
