Wishes of Joy

Hello , welcome to my room .

Spare a thought for the East Coast of Australia and those who are experiencing such horrid extreme
weather conditions.

As usual Monday nights I find it hard to be creative because much of my inks and tools are packed ready for
 Tuesday morning workshop.
But I did manage to make a
couple more Christmas cards.

Every time I use my bigshot now , I am in the habit of embossing extra pieces of whatever dies  I am using at the time just for nights like tonight.

Both cards here are Real Red card bases, with Whisper White embossed layer.
On the first card  shown here , I have used
 Merry christmas , a Kaiserstamp,
and a stocking with pocket from older stash so unknown source. I 3D the pocket and the teddy.
I inked in Real Red and Pacific Point. The bear I coloured with SU watercolor pencils, and the stars with a gold pen.

For the second card, I chalked the edges of the embossed white  in a blue from  SU Stampin' pastels and some yellow in the centre.
The stars are  left overs  from an earlier card . Punched from Whisper White and Glitter paper.

Here again I 3D embellishments . All the little greetings are from a set by Hero Arts .

Hope you like these quick and easy cards tonight . This will be
11 cards now for me .

Cheers for now , catch you again soon

fabulous FRIEND

What a miserable day it has been in Adelaide today .
But must not complain because we do need the rain .
Hi there , are you a newbie to my blog ?
Well then, welcome, I  hope you enjoy the browsing. Before you go , leave a comment  so that I know who and where you are. Wouldn't you like to share your creations with me too?

Only one card today . A general greeting card.
Love this DSP  Cottage Wall.
Tried a new fillagree butterfly punch.
I punched out the butterfly in Rich Razzleberry, and layered it onto Bashful Blue before cutting out .
And a Nellie Snellen multi frame .
Greeting from set , Oval All, inked with Purely Pomegranate .
Did not scan that well and the glitter I placed onto butterfly wings  has not shown up . I cut out small flower from greeting and 3D onto tag.

Hope that you like it enough to either tick  a box or leave a  comment .
Enjoy the rest of your evening .
                                             Cheers Shirley-Anne

A couple of techniques on show .

Hello and welcome to a chilly night here in Adelaide . We have had a few drops of rain today and may have more tomorrow . And that means we can't go for a walk , Hubby and I. Oh   what a shame .....I'll just have to fill in time in my craft room , won't I?
Already tonight I have completed two projects for Sunday craft  ladies .
This one shows off repitition stamping [ stamping off] .  Ink the image , stamp the image , in this case I stamped onto project , restamp the image one or more times without reinking the stamp.
I began with a white gloss card base  and a layer of textured pink card. On  whisper white cardstock trimmed a bit smaller than the pink layer  I stamped, in basic black , flowers from Vintage Vogue. I added strip of the pink edged with decorative punch. Over this I added ribbon and scallop circle, and 1 3/8" nd 1 1/4 " circles with butterfly image in Pixie Pink from set,  Dreams du Jour.  Then adhered all to card front. I finished off by adding a couple of pink Rhinestones in some of the flower centres.

This second card I show off the brayering  technique as background .
The card base is from Pretty in Pink. Only one layer of Whisper White .Over  this , before adding to card base , I placed a piece of thin paper with a hole torn in the centre . Over this I brayered Brilliant Blue as background piece.
Flower and small butterfly  inked in basic Black is from set , Live Your Dream. Top butterfly is from Dreams  du Jour In Basic Black as well as the  greeting  from Whimsical Words .
I completed the layer by adding clip from Hodgepodge hardware and some black ribbon .

Well that's it for another night .
Hope that you have enjoyed your browsing here tonight .
Catch you again tomorrow,  perhaps .
Cheers Shirley-Anne

Six years old

Hi , hope you have had a great day and I am happy that you found time to visit .
Today I  finished my kits for Tuesday and made a start on Sunday's .
But when I happened to glance at the calendar
a little while ago I realised that I had not made
a card for one of our grandsons , who will turn 6 in June .
So  whipped this one up quick smart .

Firstly I embossed some Brilliant Blue with numbers die then cut it with the Top Note  die. I also cut the Top Note in White Gloss card .  I cut the edge off the blue piece and placed the numbers onto the white top note, creating a white  border . The base card is from Only Orange which I  embossed , before adding Top Note . Highlighting the number 6 with a metalic gold pen , adding a soccer ball brad and stamping Happy Birthday from Teeny Tiny Sentiments finished the card .                                                Sebastian will like it I am sure.                                                Hoping that you  found the card interesting  and leaving you for the night .                                                                                  Cheers Shirley-Anne

For the men in our lives

Hi there and welcome to my room .
Thanks for wandering in .
One of my ladies that share Tuesday mornings with me,  said yesterday , that she was
so over flowery feminine cards and wanted to see some cards for males .
 So here goes ..

This first one is my favourite for the day .
I began with a Creamy Caramel card base .
Chocolate Chip , Very Vanilla and some DSP
from new Autumn Mini  sit on the front .
This Autumn Traditions paper is beautiful .
The flower flourish and words are
from set ' No One Like You' in Creamy Caramel
and the wine and nibbles are from set , Voila,
inked in Chocolate Chip and coloured with markers .

The second really was a quick card . I did not time it , but I dont think it took longer than 10 minutes tops .                                                             Chocolate Chip and Creamy Caramel cardstock.  Stampin' Around  wheel  Leaves A La carte.     Image is from retired set Carte Postale . Words from Short & Sweet . Inks used are Handsome Hunter and Chocolate Chip. I used a white pen to highlight some leaves and the edges of image .  Punches used were Word Window and 13/4 " circle .    I got this card  idea from one of Roz's cards .
Cheers To You was the set used  for  this card . Another quick card . I dont know that these cards are challenging , but I quite like them .
The card base is Tempting Turquoise, with Taken With Teale and DSP panels. The beer mugs  and words were stamped onto Very Vanilla with Chocolate Chip ink . I  3D  mugs and I stamped the froth again onto Whisper White , cut out and adhered over top.
WOW  , big post . Hope I did not lose you along the way . Now all I have to do is make the kits up , but not tonight too late .
Hope that you all enjoyed  my posting tonight .
Till next time , stay safe .
Cheers Shirley-Anne

Scallop Circle card

What a day ! Actually it has been a busy week . Good to sit quiet now and share some things with you .
Hello , glad you could make it tonight.
I  made a couple of cards for the  challenge to make  50 Christmas cards by 1st December . See side bar .
I had  my Tuesday card kits to make  [ 24]  And I had things to prepare for a Sunday [ yesterday]
workshop.
Any way my bags are packed for tomorrow so stamping in earnest is  out for  tonight .
Instead I have been playing with my bigshot and dies .
I guess some-one has done this before ...BUT
I have not seen it , so this is my  own thinking . This is the first of my experiment card . I cut one circle to get the size so I could fold some  card stock to accommodate the circle with a hinge . I placed the fold on the die just below the top 4 scallops . So when I ran it through the machine I finished up with a scallop  circle card . As shown . I punched a large circle , stamped an image, cut it out , placed it onto the circle then adhered that to cover  the hinge . I cut the 1st scallop circle in half and adhered it to card front to match scallops .
Not a great colour combination but I used scraps and will  keep this as a template for future showing .
Here is one that I have made just a little different
I made the scallop circle card from Pretty in Pink cardstock and cut another single circle from paper from SU Patterns Paper 11. which I adhered over card front, overlapping  above hinge . Then I embellished front .

And so on to the inside .

And that's a wrap for tonight .

I think that this has actually been a fun night .
What's the bet now I will see examples of this every where !

Never mind .

Hope that I have not been too long winded in my post tonight .
Perhaps you can tell me where you have seen this before and show me the link to  your version .
                          Cheers Shirley-anne

Sea Creatures

This would have to be the first card
that turned out exactly how I invisaged it
even before I began .

Hello every one . I hope that you have
enjoyed your weekend . I had a couple
of craft friends over for a fun card
creating afternoon . So I am on a high .

This is the card  that I mentioned earlier.
Using card base of Certainly Celery I stamped , in Sahara Sand,
the seaweed swirls randomly over card front. This and the sea creature images are  from the set ' Ocean Commotion' . Kiwi Kiss, Basic Black, and Creamy Caramel SU are inks used .
I embossed card front before adhering 3D  images as shown firstly  onto circles of DSP , SU., then onto card.

Hope that you can see  the impression that I was trying to
convey. That is an underwater scene .
I would be really interested in your comments here .
Cheers , catch you again soon ..Shirley-Anne

Christmas Stars

Hello , I am so happy that you have come a visiting .
It would make me even happier if you left a
comment at the end of my post . Just a few words
of encouragement or even constructive
criticism as part of your evaluation of my creation
would be a help to the development of my craft skills.
If you don't have time to leave a comment ,
a tick in a box would be great.

I managed two more Christmas cards today.

Here for 1st card I began with Real Red card stock. Certainly Celery and Whisper White for the layers.
I love the Polker Dot grosgrain ribbon , SU, as it is double sided with red underside with white stitching on edge.

I embossed white layer with Big Shot and stamped tag, O'Christmas Tree from Image Tree,  onto Certainly Celery with Garden Green ink , SU. Coloured stars with SU markers.
Greeting is from  SU set Snow Swirled, in Handsome Hunter , SU.

For my 2nd card I also used Real Red
 as card base.Embossed Whisper White
is the mat for the embellishing .
Before embossing I stamped the  greeting
from set , Many Merry Messages , in Real Red ink.
Three  SU punches were used,  Scallop Circle,
1 3/8" circle and the Large Star.
For the stars,  I had found some really old  stash of glitter paper so I used the snail adhesive to stick small squares to white scraps and then punched out the stars. These I 3D onto circles and attached some silver thread to loop over top of  white card.

Now this will bring my number of Christmas cards  to 9.    Hope that Robyn gets back to me soon
with her additions.

I enjoy sharing with you . Cheers for now  Shirley-Anne

4 You

Good afternoon viewers , hope that your
week is progressing happily for you .
Found some Patterns Packll from
my stash of SU products .
Was instantly inspired and this is
what I came up with .

I started with a 150cm square white card base. 1st layer is Lovely Lilac, then sheet from Pack, Creamy Caramel and other sheet from Pack.
Butterfly is from the Autumn/winter mini catty, " All A Flutter" I  created faux stitching on last paper.
The pot and stems and flowers are from Judith stamps .The little tag , I punched using the Medium Jewelry Tag from same catty.
The butterfly, the pot and bottom flower have been stamped twice and 3D on card. I used markers,  SU,  throughout.

liked it straight away and that does not happen often !
Hope you like it .
         Cheers  Shirley-Anne

Old Lamp

Hi there everyone. Hope that your weekend
was the best it could be . Are you ready for
 the new week ahead?

I found this picture amongst my vintage stash
and here it is on today's card.
The card base is a dark blue .
I covered it with DSP , SU. Used the Bigshot to cut the large  Bashful Blue scallopped circle  and distressed the edges .
I matted the picture onto Bashful Blue  , then onto DSP.
Used 3D foam tape to adhere to circle .
Added flowers with brad centres over ribbon strip.
Words from Teeny Tiny Sentiments SU. punched out of Bashful Blue with the Word Window Punch, SU.

Thanks for being here tonight and hope you like this one .
                 Cheers for now Shirley-Anne

Last Two For The week

Hello , thank you for calling in.
Have to make these the last Chrismas cards
for the week as I have other kits to make
 for Tuesday's Workshop.

This first card did not scan all that well , sorry.
I started with SU White Gloss as card base and Whisper White to stamp stocking on.
Stocking in Basic Black SU  from Artee stamps and greeting in SU  Real Red from Sonlight Crafts.
I used Decor Art SnowTex on the furry top of boot  to add texture but it does not show up well . Never mind .

The second card is from all SU products .

Naturals Ivory is the card base .
Real Red and Old Olive and DSP other card and paper.
Happy Every Thing , Occasional Greetings and Festive Favorites were the stamp sets.

Real Red ink and markers for colour.

Scallop circle and 1 1/4 " and 1 3/8" punches for the embellishments .

Well,  I will  put the Christmassy things away for a couple of days now . But I must say it was fun to start these . I hope that you like them all .

Thanks for following and browsing tonight .

                                     Cheers for now Shirley-Anne

Two more for Christmas Card Challenge

Hello,  welcome to my messy heaven . I really am
glad that you can't see my desk   because ...well...
I CAN'T SEE MY DESK!!
I am on a roll here . Two more Christmas cards today but I will still be behind Robyn .

I love tags . large and small as embellishments .
This first card is from SU products . Certainly Celery, Confetti, DSP.  Stampsets were Festive Favorites and Teeny Tiny Sentiments. Various  Markers used .

This second card is still along the' quick & easy '
line.
Here again,  all  materials are    from SU. Greeting is from  Snow Swirled , while the baubles are from Tree Trimmings set.

So glad that you came to visit and that I was able to share these with you .  You may be inspired to start your Christmas Card Creating .

                 Cheers Shirley-Anne

Making a start...

Here I used a bought card base of royal blue , attached some striped  SU DSP on the left . I used the bigshot to creat the Top Note for the greeting from the set  , Christ is Born , SU. Placing a couple of flower embellishments to the top and some Snow Burst set images at the bottom , finished the quick card .

Thought it about time I began creating my Christmas cards when I read on someone's blog about setting herself a challenge to make so many before December. But here is a tip fellow crafters , when you are blog browsing and you want to join in a step like this [ that is a challenge not with a stamping group]  Make a note of the blog name after you leave a comment to say you will join in . I DID NOT ! Now I cant remember where I was. I have checked all my saved blogs sites but of course that article doesn't stay on top does it...so please if I left a comment on your blog about joining you in  making so many Christmas cards before December , can you let me know? .
So any way here are three as starters. This one has Bashful Blue as card base and stampsets  Festive Favorites and Occasional Greetings.                                                                                      Using the very light Bashful Blue ink for the greeting and only colouring the middle snowman kept this card "cool" I think.
I began by using some card bases that I had cut and folded some time ago, so I forget which green card this is from SU but I am thinking that it would be Certainly Celery.  And I know this set Festive Favorites has been retired but I love it still.                     Many Merry Messages  set used  for the greeting which I split for a  different look .
Well that's it for today .  So far any way . Thank you for browsing and Id love it if you would call in again soon . Hope you liked these quick cards from today .
PS.. edited same day
          PPS...  edited again same day
To keep up with my Christmas card numbers watch this label..
Christmas Wishes..

Thank you to Robyn for answering my call . Many hugs.

Designer Series Paper

What a beautiful sunny day it was here for Mother's Day.
Doug and I gophered for our coffee at one of our
favourite haunts and then continued on for a 5k hike ,
before turning for home . Doug gophers , I walk .
I had a call from each of our children which " made my day".

I managed to create two cards this afternoon .
I adore the Designer Series Paper , Cottage Wall that is from the new Autumn Winter mini catalogue. I used this in both cards .

Also from this catty I used the stamp set,  All A Flutter.  I think that this will be my favourite butterfly now . I stamped it twice in Rich Razzleberry ink ,  you guessed it from the catty, and then 3D it to card front .
Adding some flowerstrip ribbon and an image from my stash finished this card.

Here the same papers are used in a different layout with some bling in the centre of some of the flowers and on the "inchie" on the bottom right corner. I've added some flower embellishments and some paper lace to finish the card.                         And that's it for today . I hope that all the Mother's felt that extra serving of love dished out,  just for them today.                                                                         Cheers for now ...Shirley-Anne

Art or Graffiti ?

Hi there.  Where ever you be, I   hope that you are warmer  than  me!
It is only going to be 19  here today .
Not that yet!

This is the first time that I have created a card with this technique.
Brickwall.
In some tutorials that I have seen the bricks on the right have been staggered to represent a wall in progress
But this time I have chosen to show a view of completed wall .
I used Creamy Caramel cardstock and DSP  Sweet Slumber Speciality, SU . Two  SU stamp sets , Garden Whimsy and Close as a Memory .
I used SU markers for images and morter between bricks .
I used DSP instead of cardstock  because it is textured and although it does not show up in picture it has a light pattern adding to the background.
Hope you like it .
Cheers Shirley-Anne

OH MY GOODNESS ..3rd POST FOR TODAY!

Gosh , this has to be a record . Please note that this is my third post for today so don't forget to scroll down to see the other posts . There is a Mother's Day card for me from our Daughter and another  post  with  my two pages for  another of the circle journal that I am participating in , to share .

This card which I made today is another quick , simple card for a male friend  of ours who is not feeling 100%.  I have used DSP from SU. Stamps , Three Thoughts from SU and Ink was Creamy Caramel and cardstock was Creamy Caramel , also SU.
I love it. Hope you think it worth sharing .
Love to read your comments and will always endeavour to return the visit. .so go on let me know where you are..

2nd Post for Today...More Journalling

Have had another of the circle journal , this one
from Chris , to work on today
and it is ready to post
on to next  participant.
The first picture is of her cover . Sorry that it not as good as I hoped it would be .  I love the image of the eyes.

For my pages I tried a little different style to my previous pages hope Chris  likes them .

My writing has deteriorated so badly this year , and I usually use PC now for letter writing . So writing on small tags and such is not done often .
I have used DSP from SU and the stamp set Totally Tess , my favourite ...for now!
I think I have one more journal to come so am watching out for the postie.
Thanks for  stopping by and I'd love to visit you too.

My Mother's Day card

Hello and welcome to my room . I am sharing My Mother's Day card  from Michelle, our Daughter, who lives in Queensland with her family.

Sorry Michelle didn't tie bow very well after
reading inside wishes.

I believe that it is a "joy" fold card , where the centre panel folds away to right thus releasing  left side of card to reveal inside message. Love the bright colours and the bling on the swirls and in flower centre.

Now,  if you are in the mood for some  papercraft  ideas ' other than cards ' you might find her blog interesting .

Thank you for the wishes and card Michelle , loving  you  as always .

With Heartfelt Sympathy

Hi there , hope that your weekend is pleasant.

One thing that I have just noticed , as I uploaded this card,  is that it is neater to scan the cards as you don't have to worry about the surroundings .
Never mind,  I will be more careful next time . If I get the chance I will edit the photo later.

I have to create a few more Sympathy cards as my supply  has been depleted , sad to say.
This one  has  very simple , clean lines and has only two colours .
I started with Whisper White, SU,  for card base.
Using Bashful Blue , SU, card stock  I made a mat   just  a little smaller than card front .
I then I used my Big Shot to emboss some more Whisper White card . Now because the embossed piece was a bit too short , I cut it about 3cm's from the bottom and after trimming sides , I layered it onto  Bashful Blue piece leaving a small border and a gap between the two white embossed pieces. Next I placed a ribbon, SU, around  and over the gap, securing at the back. I made a separate bow and used Mini dots , SU, to secure it . The sentiment,  in Baja Breeze ink, SU, is from SU set,  Close As A Memory.

What do you think , is it suitably sombre for a sympathy card?
PS...just edited photo .
PS.. again . Entering this in a ' One Colour ' challenge on
