Tulips on show

Hello to all those who have called in here and welcome to my room . I do hope that you enjoy your visit and will consider it worth your time .
Thank you to past commentators  . I will always endeavor  to repay the visits in appreciation .

Quite enjoy browsing on line again and blogging . Not as regular as I would like but being a full time carer my time has to be prioritized of course . Having just been diagnosed with  Type Two diabetes, I am trying to lose wt. AGAIN!! The best time I find not to be nibbling is when I am card making or blogging . So here I am .

Today I am showing a card made for entering a challenge [ link below ] .

A Perfect Time To Craft Challenge for March, #3 - 2020

            Recipe

Soft Suede card base , Pink Pirquette layer which was embossed with Stone 3D embossing folder .
Topper tag die cut with Stitched Nested Labels Die which was then edged in Soft Suede , while the sentiment was added in same ink .The tulips are from SU Timeless Tulips stamp set with a coordinating punch used for the largest tulip.

I am not one for embellishing so as usual have not added any bling , preferring to let the topper take centre place .

Catch you again soon , cheers for now , Shirley-Anne

How DO you wrap a hug?

Hi there . Welcome to my room and thank you for calling in .
I do hope that you let me know that you have popped in to read  my post by leaving a few words in the comment box below . I appreciate you taking the  time . I do read all comments and will return the visit asap .

Another cold day in Adelaide with a few late afternoon showers . Now Hubby does not like Winter as he cannot go out on his gopher to give  Twiggy a run in one of the many parks nearby . So he has to content himself with watching a lot of TV or playing games on his computer . For me it is ok as I love being in my craft room either actually making cards or researching on line for card sketches /ideas .I do love Pinterest .

Today I am sharing a rather plain little square card .
An image, A Secret,  from Mo's Digis which I coloured with copics .
The sentiment is one of Penny Black's stamps.
The little butterfly is from a freebie set in a magazine .
The DSP is from my SU stash .
I die cut the image after printing it then stamped the sentiment and butterfly before  colouring and adding to card with foam dots .

Flowers make me smile.

Hello craft pals , welcome to my room .
I am absolutely thrilled that you have popped by and hope that you like my share today .

My happy aunt,  I am shocked to see that it was in November that I last blogged .

And, I have been remiss in visiting you all too. So, I must say sorry for that .
I must admit that apart from being time poor a little laziness had crept in too .

Just as well that this blogging and /or card making caper can withstand the lack of attention and it only takes a spark of inspiration to fire up the enthusiasim again .

So ...to share a card today

White card base ,Older SU paper ,MFT die for Smile .
Flowers and butterfly from my stash. Bling from SU.
Sentiment from MFT.

I wonder if there is a challenge that I could enter .
Off to search .

Well Scripted

Goodness here it is Monday again .
Hi every one . Welcome to my room. Thank you for calling in .
Hope that you and yours are well and that you all had a happy week end .

I think that Autumn has left us rather quickly and Winter is in a hurry to get an early start.
It has been rather cold and wet the last few days with more to follow this week .
I don't mind , preferring to go with the flow and adjust my  plans  for the day accordingly.

No card making as such over the week except for yesterday afternoon , when , after browsing through craft magazines I was inspired by a set of cards by Sue Rowe in ACMS&P MAG.

Safe to say all products used from my craft room stash .
The sentiment is from a SU set , Well Scripted,  that I have not used for yonks . In fact I have not inked much lately .
entering new challenge from Michelle

For those of you who are following my wt. loss progress , here is an update .

Ok,  scales need a dusting sorry . 80.8 kg again . This is harder than I thought it would be .
But I have been encouraged by comments I have had , both on line and personally so I will keep trying .Having said that I think I will try some shake drink thing only because I just cant seem to find the time out I need to walk as exercise .

I don't really ..just sticking to meals except when craft friends are here and the odd treat so I don't feel like my throat has been cut .

Catch you again soon , cheers for now , Shirley-Anne

Card Give Away Result

Hi   there blogging pals . Welcome to my room .
A weather relief today .Quite comfortable temperatures really .

I had a fun craft morning with a couple of friends and a fine lunch with them and Doug later.
The kits I made up earlier ...well like at about midnight the night before .
With the hot weather and gophering out with Doug , crafting in my room had been restricted last week .I had thought that I would have to give my girls a  free hand in my room to muck around with my stash , to collect their own card making choices . But that was not to be ...sorry girls maybe next time !
I did not think that I would have time tonight to post so I uploaded one of todays cards onto my Facebook page if you would like to view it there .
here now are the other two cards we made today .

#1  Whisper White , SU .That blue deckled edged  frame for Kraftyhands image is actually Tempting Turquoise , SU, like the pearls . I embossed for 1st layer .Is this still a CAS card?

This second card uses an image from set 3 Wild Flowers Art Pad, Lili of the Valley.  Card base and  paper from my stash .Sentiment from MFS. SU oval Punch used .

Now , if you are still with  me . I have drawn the name from the comments for this give away card posted by me, on Wednesday 15th
http://shirley-anne-stampingforjoy.blogspot.com.au/2014/01/home-made-is-best.html

and it will be posted to ....Faith  .If you would email me Faith   at shirlb1@bigpond.com    . Thank you to those who visited and left a comment . There will be another give away soon .

Catch you again soon , cheers for now , Shirley-Anne.

Home made is best .

Hello craft pals . Hope you and yours are well .
Welcome to my room .
It has been so hot here in Adelaide with more heat  to come .
Doug and I have only been out early in the mornings for a quick coffee and home again under fans and aircon. No gopher ride to parks for Twiggy's run . I have actually missed taking photos .

This one was taken a while ago now . The tree is in our neighbour's front yard  near  our gate way .

The female had just popped into the nest hole and it looks like he is checking her progress .you can just see her tail .

My card to share tonight ..

The image topper is from Kraftyhands  Mini CD , Fat Luigi's kitchen .
Whisper White and dark green card  , SU,  and sentiment , SU. Paper printed from  CD too .

I have made this  as a kit for  craft with  my girls Sandy,  Fran and Jane .

This finished card is a give away so I will choose a comment to this post to send it on  . If you would like to leave a comment I will contact the winner for postal address and will post any where .

Catch you again soon , cheers for now , Shirley-Anne

Chocolate and Orange

Hello .Welcome to my room .
Are you blog browsing ? Well , I hope that you like what you see here and maybe leave a word or two . let me know you have been and I can visit you too..
Had a fabulous craft morning with Fran and Sandy . It was coffee and chat first as Sandy has just returned from a trip over seas .Lots of interesting  anecdotes of her travels made delightful addition to the bickies shared .

One of the cards made today was inspired by a card I saw one night as I blog browsed .
I must thank Jen  Nelson  for that . I would share her blog addy but did not write it down ..just remembered the design . The colour combo has changed as is the sentiment .And I think that I did the inside differently too .

Chocolate Chip, SU , for card base .Some orange/white  paper from stash .
Pumpkin Pie ribbon , SU.  Sentiment , SU.
INSIDE

It is a  top fold C6 size card . I scallop  die cut the front . I adhered the orange paper to the bottom of a  piece of Chocolate Chip card stock the same size as the original card front .I adhered that behind the scalloped front , then added the ribbon and sentiment .
Card colours reminded me of  the Jaffa  confectionery.
 Tis another CAS card.
Must leave now and catch up on some DT work .

Catch you again soon , cheers for now , Shirley-Anne

Wood grain and Vine

Hello , thank you for calling in . Welcome to my room where I hope that you like what you see .
Just another quick post to show a card I made to share at a workshop . I generally have 3 cards and kits to make and take for my friends on Tuesday morning but this week my mojo left me for the last set . So as I usually do, when this happens , I began to browse through my favourite magazine for inspiration .
And so I must acknowledge that I was inspired and motivated by a card by Carolyn Bennie, SA, shown in Readers gallery , Australian Cardmaking Stamping & PaperCraft.
Can't show you of course as I dont have permission from either parties .
But if Carolyn sees this and oks I'd love to share her card here

Chocolate Chip card base, Whisper White layer . Wood Grain image from KaiserCraft
stamped twice on light  tan cardstock. Inks were Creamy Caramel and Soft Suede.
The vine from KaiserCraft, inked in Garden Green . The Bird Collage from Hero Arts, inked with  basic Grey..The large silver brad is from SU

                                                                         inside

Here I stamped image in two colours again overlapping each stamping, on Very Vanilla card. .I used a torn rectangle of paper as a mask and stamped over it to give the sentiment /greeting blank place.
For a slapped up card and a little different from Carolyn's card , I really liked the end result .

Hope that you are enjoying the week and managing to get some crafting  in .
Would like to enter this card in a challenge or two

Circle aperture

Hi there.  Welcome to my room and thanks for calling in .
So very late tonight .Had a great afternoon with Jane and while I did some more cuttlebugging , she made up some card kits I had made earlier .
Jane had bought some craft magazines before she arrived so we began by reading through them . Isn't it amazing how you can  always find something new no matter how many magazines you read?
Was a decent movie on TV tonight so have watched it with Doug .If it were not for the zillion adverts the movie would have finished earlier .
Any way onto my card which was one that was made today .

Card base is Naturals Ivory , the butterfly ,  sentiment , ribbon  from SU and papers from my stash .
The circle punch for the aperture is from SU .
The idea for this card design came from blog browseing .The inside has coordinating paper and diecut frame for sentiment

Once again thanks for your company and for the comments you leave .I read and appreciate every line . Weekend coming up so will try to visit some of you then .

A fine quote for today .

Catch you again soon , cheers for now , Shirley-Anne

Scallop circle easle card

OOH AHHH, here I am again ! On a roll this week . Over compensating for some time away from crafting ..Hi there , welcome to my room .
Sun shining today and Doug could go out on his gopher. Bit of a drama there though . He usually goes out for about 1 or 2 hours max but today he left at 1.30pm after lunch and when he had not returned by 4.00 pm I set out in car to look for him . He had told me which park he was going to,  so I went straight there .
Poor Doug , there he was stuck on the path , twiggy was having a ball running around . "What took you so long?"he asked . The gopher had blown a fuse and would not move . We put it in nuetral so I could push it to the car where I had to help Doug into the car to sit while I pushed the gopher home . I then walked back to the car and drove him home . SIGH !! PUFF PUFF!!
Any way to my card .
This was another unusual fold for my crafting buddie Fran .

This one I made first but then found that I did not have enough DSP  to make kits so made this one .

Now I am off to comment on some Make it Monday entries and return comments for some of my visitors .
So thank you for calling in and hope you liked my cards.

Catch you again soon , cheers for now , Shirley-Anne

Stars and toy friend

Hi there , welcome to my room . Thanks for calling in and I  hope you enjoy browsing through my blog .
I really appreciate the addition of some new followers . Looking foward to seeing some new inspirational pieces , different styles and interesting posts .
Still freezing here in Adelaide even for Autumn . only 19 today I believe. Still , we went out for our usual walk for coffee and took our girls { Jacki and Twiggy } to the park for a run .
Then , happily , I  spent some craft time in my room .
To share this time though,  is a card I made for  my  craft  buddies and our workshop.

I enjoyed creating this little fun card .
I began with a SU Pacific Point card base . I cut out to the  fold a small panel from front .
I stamped star happy birthday [SU] and diecut circle frames x2 .I added dsp  to panels left on card front and the dinosaur.SU set , Dinoroar.
Turning to the inside , I added the other star happy  birthday exactly over the back of  the first . then added dsp and another dinosaur next to the circle for  sentiment .
I would like to enter this card in some challenges
http://craftycreationschallenges.blogspot.com.au/

Challenge#170 - Male Birthday Card    I think this is a fun card for boys

http://dreamvalleychallenges.blogspot.com.au/

Challenge 32 - CASE

I actually cased Sarah's card .I used the star and the toy friend as inspiration as well as it is a boys' Birthday card .

A craft morning

Hi there blogging pals . Welcome to my room . A glorious day here in Adelaide .A few light showers in the morning but not heavy enough to keep Doug indoors . He went off on his gopher while I set up my craft table ready for Fran and Sandy . We had a lovely morning crafting while chatting about this and that .it was funny but every now and then something would be said that reminded one or all of us about  the words of a song .I think we went through all the tunes in the movie ' South Pacific '. A senior moment here ,,help me out Sandy I think that was the name .You know the one with the song " I'm going to wash that man right outa my hair" And we would all burst into song and laughter.
Any way these are the cards we made today .
no recipe really just what was handy ..

Hope that your week is bringing you smiles and a happy heart.

If you see someone with out a smile , give them one of yours .

Catch you again soon , cheers for now Shirley-Anne

My week

Hello Blogging friends , welcome to my room . Hope that you and yours are well .
This will be the longest post I have ever done so grab a cuppa and I  hope that you find something that interests you . Firstly,  thank you to those who have joined my blog and to those who have taken the time to to leave much appreciated comments .

Well,  the weather has improved here in Adelaide and we have had a couple of sunny days where Doug and I have been out and about , walking . That being  one of the reasons  for lack of  postings .
Sunday was a great craft day with Sandy and Jane . Sandy  bought along some of her Jelly cakes for our afternoon tea . Hand made jelly cakes to die for . while we had two each Doug saved one of his for supper so I  thought that  I  would show you just how yummy cream filled they were!
THANK YOU SANDY
And here are some of the cards we made

Then today Fran and Jill came for papercrafting . Now Fran does not have a blog but wanted to join in my Christmas card challenge . Here  are  photos  of some of her 38 cards

Definately a fun day today with Fran and Jill .Things kept going missing , and turning up right under our noses ..as missing things do!
Poor Jill ,who walks to my place , weather permitting , walked right way  past   my gateway before realising her error . And Fran left her order behind when it was time to go . I did manage to call her back to pick it up .
Fran , Doug and I then went out for lunch at a cafe nearby
And here are two of the cards we worked on today .

Fran suggested this as the insert below .

and for the  last card

Well I  hope that you have enjoyed your visit here today .
Catch you again soon , cheers for now , Shirley-Anne .

Carol and Carol on Saturday

Hello everyone . It is so great to see you here  ..welcome to my room . Thanks for calling in . What a glorious day in Adelaide today . Hope it is just as pleasant where ever you are .
Doug was much better today , even good enough to gopher to the park with me and Jacki [ our dog] .He was getting cabin fever , I  think , not being able to get out and about .
He was so tired after , that he slept   most of the time my girls were here for card making ..
These are my two Carols .

We had just finished our cards and they were browsing catalogue while waiting for kettle to boil .
I forgot to write down which card belonged to which Carol but I'm sure I'll be told if this is wrong
This one is by Carol J.
And this one by Carol P..

Both enjoyed the stamping and punching and oohing over DSP.  I chuckled as they both agreed that it was hard to use dsp that had beautiful patterns on both sides . I assured them  that even seasoned crafters have that problem too . Wouldn't you agree ?
Next week I hope to show you something they made at home .
Catch you again soon,  cheers for now , Shirley-Anne.

heartfelt wish

Hi there . Welcome to my room .
You would think that  I would say something more original , yes? I have often thought that I should find something different to say at the beginning and end of my postings but ...this is what I  am comfortable with and I genuinely am happy to see you here .
Had a wonderful afternoon with a couple of friends who are newbies to papercraft . I set a little homework for them  every  week and it just thrills me no end when they bring some project along to share . They don't know it yet but I  think that I will start taking photos and sharing their cards with you . They really are picking up hints,  tips and ideas from their lessons . It's like planting seeds in a new garden and watching new blooms appear.
I have a couple of other friends coming tomorrow, Sandy and Jane
and this card will be one for them to do .

Hope they like it .
                                                                recipe
Poppy Parade , Whisper White Stampin'Around , Leaves A La Carte

Less is More note and others.

Hello blog pals .Hope you are enjoying your day ,whatever you are up to . Welcome to my room . Thanks for calling in to browse and I hope that you let me know where you are so that I can return the courtesy .
Fistly I'd like to share my entry into Less is More challenge .

MONOCHROME. And  I quote...
Encarta definition
mon·o·chrome [ mónnÉ™ krm ]
adjective
Definition:
1. in shades of one color: using or displaying only shades of one color or black and white.
You may choose any colour you wish, but please keep all the shades you use within your chosen spectrum.

My card is of Glossy White , while image , from Asian Artistry, and sentiment , stampendous are  inked in Basic Black . I used a blender pen to drag colour from edge of bird to colour body . I think it looks brownish in photo but IRL it is black . I created the larger  image by overlapping two images in the set.
Please stay with me as I would love for you to see the other two cards we did in our workshop this morning .

                                                                Recipe
Rose Red, Whisper White, Pretty in Pink.
                                                DSP, Lap of Luxury.
Faces from unknown set ...[Sandy 's help needed there in her comment ]
                                                      Sentiment , Well Scripted.
Inks Basic Black , Basic Grey .
Circle Punches , Label 18, Spellbinders.

This one was fun to make with Pacific Point card , Sahara Sand, Whisper White and DSP , Celebrations. This is the packet I want to see how many cards I could  from it. Hard to tell cause I have used small pieces like the striped layer here on 5 cards .  The best I can say  after using this pkt in  two workshops now , is LOTS ..
WOW this is the best post I have done for a while .I think that it is because I am still on a high from the wonderful card morning with 3 fabulous friends . Thanks girls .
And thanks to those who have stayed to the end of this post . I hope that you have found it worth the visit .
First card will be hopefully suitable for http://simplylessismoore.blogspot.com/2011/06/week-18-colour-monochrome.html
Catch you again soon , cheers for now , Shirley-Anne.

To top that off Doug has been toddling  [ slow unsteady walking ] around the unit .Showing off a little , I think . Really pleased with himself!
BUT , on to my card for today .
