You're The Best

Hello once again .Love the visits I am getting but would love some comments too .
Thank you for calling in  and welcome to my room .

It is so cold here again today and the best place to be is in my craft room , where I am making up some more kits for Tuesday craft morning .

My give away card has been allotted . Thank you to those who commented on that post .

Today' s share is a card for a male . Not quite as I had imagined but ok , I guess .

Thick White card , SU for base , sentiment and shirt along with Basic Black , SU.
Shirt is die  from MFT as is the stamped   #1
Scallop punch SU in Pacific Point card , SU for sentiment
    Paper from my stash .
The sentiment is from a freebie in a magazine .
             Punch for star from SU
             Wink of Stella used .

I made the shirt two toned by die  cutting two from white and black card , then cutting sleeves and bands  from white card and adhering over the black one .
Do you think that it worked ?
I kept the inside plain with just white card rectangle layered onto Black card leaving small border .

Thanks again for calling in . Hope you like the card .
I may or may not look for challenge to enter .

My thought for today

For success, attitude is equally as important as ability.

Catch you again soon , cheers for now , Shirley-Anne.

Creative Blog Tour

Hi there blog pals .Welcome to my room and thank you for calling in .
I do hope that frequent and  new visitors alike  and followers enjoy their browsing .

Lisa S. invited me to take part  in a blog hop . Having not participated in one before I hope that I follow all the right steps .
I was inspired by Lisa's enthusiasm and encouragement when I worked with her as DT for Make it Monday so her invite is an honour.

Thanks Lisa for guiding me .
A few questions that Lisa gave me to steer me in the right direction as an introduction  are answered here .
1. What am I working on ?
I have a few craft friends who enjoy craft days with me , where I make 3 cards and kits for them to make and take . So I am always creating for those . At the moment though,  on my desk is a DT card for Kraftyhands and the next challenge .

Cards I have made for my group

2. How does my work differ from others of its genre?
I favour CAS cards and find it very difficult to embellish my cards .So I would have to say that the lack of flowers or bling would be the difference . Having said that , I am comfortable with my style and love to share .

3.Why do I create what I do?
Rest and recreation .  Because I am lucky in  that I can .  Simple as that.  If I am not creating I am researching . I am addicted to paper craft . It has taken over another love of mine which is writing .

4.  How does your  creating process work?
I read many craft books  troll through blogs and Pinterest  and research styles and layouts .
When I have found colour combinations and themes I think I have materials to work with I set about collecting all that I need to make my interpretation of what ever  I have found . I do like to have every thing on hand before I begin .Cutting anything that needs to be cut , colour any image and assemble all layers on the card base ,This where I procrastinate ! This is where changes can be made  if I have thought of some thing that might work better .

And now for the card I created for this post .

Card stock , SU. Image from Kraftyhands CD, Butterfly Botanicals .
Sentiment from SU , Bling from Kraftyhands on line shop .Embossing folder, Couture creations.
Thanks Lisa for inviting me to participate
And now it is time for me to hand the baton over to Sandy
I have asked Sandy to join me on the blog hop next  and you will see her post on the 8th . Sandy is a crafting buddie of mine .We meet twice a week for card making , chat and coffee. Many of you will have seen her works of art as Sandy is on many DTs.

Catch you again soon , cheers for now , Shirley-Anne

Quiet Please.

Hello there , welcome to my room .
Thank you for calling in and I hope that you like the card that I have to share .

We used to have a shack at Morgan on the River Murry.  It was a tin /iron garage of sorts and we had a wood stove and bunk beds along with other  home comforts so we were not really roughing it . We used to play cards, do jigsaws ,  cook crumpets and drown them in butter and honey or vegemite . But what I loved most was the the roller door at one end which  opened up right at the bank of the river  . So in the mornings we would lift the door and watch the morning mist rise from the water while listening to the raucous laugh of the kookaburras. ...SIGH!
When I saw this image on a Whimsy CD. this memory of times past came flooding back .

The card and paper are from SU . The seagull ,  a free image with a magazine and the sentiment is from unnamed set of stamps in my stash .

I hope that my girls will enjoy making yet another masculine card for our last Tuesday  craft morning for 2012.

                                                                 A frivolous thought

Catch you again soon , cheers for now , Shirley-Anne.

A Tuesday kit .

Hi there , welcome to my room . Thank you for calling in . But don't be shy , do let me know you have been . I really do appreciate all comments .

Another beautiful day in Adelaide .Hope it was the same for you ..wherever you are .

No action packed day here , just the usual walking for coffee , taking dog to park , then the mundane house work before getting to my craft room .

Just a quick post to share the last of last Tuesdays kit cards .This one is a male greeting card .

Card base is SU , Cajun Craze. As is the motorbike image and the sentiment . The tyres and tyre tread marks for the inside are from an unmarked pack of images sorry ..The paper is from my stash which I might add is NO SMALLER . I really do have to have a day of punching and diecutting shapes to use up scraps ...perhaps Friday .

Well it is late , here any way . It may be quite early where you are though .

I will leave you with this thought.....

If you really want to do something,

you'll find a way;

if you don't, you'll find an excuse.

Catch you again soon , cheers for now , Shirley-Anne.
