Thoughts of Sympathy

Hello everyone . I am so happy to see you here and I welcome you to my room .

Thank you for calling in so that I can share my card .

This is another sympathy card for my collection and one that I made as a kit for my craft group . 

I had Sandy and Fran  here this morning for a lovely card making session with loads of laughter and chatting . Doug [ my DH] returned from his gopher ride and sat at the end of our craft table to chat with us .Just wish that I could get him interested in punching out some shapes etc for me .

For my card 

SU card stock , Garden Green , Old Olive and Whisper White .

The Gumnut Brush image is from Helen Williams while the the sentiment is made up from a set from Stampendous , Comforting Words. 

 

The matte behind the image has been embossed and I thought that this would be the only embellishing [ if I may call it as such] , I would include for this card .

Time of Sorrow

Oh boy , I am on a roll here .

Hi there Followers and visitors , welcome to my room .

Thank you for calling in .

Another cold day here with a sprinkling of rain . But you know the weather is great for crafting . 

To share tonight is a Sympathy card .

For this card I have used Marina Mist and Whisper White card stock .

Love the floral embossed layer along with the scalloped die cut for the image . This stamp has the sentiment along side of the bird image so does make a complete topper 

 

And for the inside 

Here I masked off the words and reinked just the bird .The image inside card is second generation stamped  with sentiment from Print Block Australia ,  stamped over the top .

Down memory lane

Much cooler here in Adelaide today so on with another set of weather appropriate clothes . My wardrobe and drawers  are  bulging with dual seasons clothing . How do find your changeable weather conditions ?
Hi there and welcome to my room . Thank you for calling in and much hugs   too for  those who have left kind words on my recent posts .

Another card made recently over the Christmas break is for my Sympathy box . I do have a small number of Sympathy / Thinking of you  cards put away because life is fleeting and Making a card while grieving is not something to which  I look forward   .

This beautiful image was found on pinterest . It is a valid reflection on how I perceive   that  special place in my heart to be , my memory lane .
Very Vanilla  card base , Brocade Blue  mat,  are SU . The back ground paper is from a Kraftyhands paper stack nearly   all gone .
 Sentiment is retired SU set . Bling from my stash .

Hope you like and although it is a simple image I think that it invokes a powerful feeling of thinking of some one you miss .

Silver and Black beauty

Yawn ..Yawn oops almost split my face in half !

Just waiting for Michelle to come on FB to swap good nights .

Huh ! Awake now with sore nose as I just hit the key board with my face . Oh why do I stay up so late ?

Hey , don't go , come into my room for a minute . This is just a short post .I was clearing away today's  gear from the craft morning with Sandy and Fran and I thought I would like to share the Sympathy card from one of the kits I made .

I got the idea for the design from Pinterest .

 

Hey , how about the photo .Taken outside so nipped a flower from one of the pots .

Trying to use up some stash here . card base is Quartz Shimmer , while the paper  panel is from an A4 sheet of Cristina Re  embossed paper. 

Sentiment is from  older SU set .

I cut the C6 card base and another piece the same size as the front of the card .

I adhered the image which was cut 5 cm wide on front of card .Then I cut the extra layer so that  I had two panels that just overlapped the paper strip . With foam dots I added them to card front on either side of paper panel . I punched out the sentiment and with foam dots added it to card as shown .

Well there you are , hope you like the card .

A Tulip for Sympathy

Hello , here I am again enjoying some craft time in my room .
I am happy to welcome you here and hope you like that which I will share today .

Still very cold today and more Wintry weather to come . So definitely no outing on gophers  this morning . I certainly miss capturing beautiful snaps  with  my camera.

My weight is much the same as earlier in the month .I am so frustrated with it all . I wonder how other wives / partners who are caring for Husbands manage .
I find that meals are a real pain . But I do know that lack of energy output like very little walking /exercise is the real reason for no wt. loss .SO bring on warmer weather when I can walk beside Doug and his gopher on brisk jaunts around the block .

OOPS  sorry , forgot I was here to share a card . Another Sympathy card.

Sympathy and Prayers

Hello there , welcome to my room .

Another awesome Autumn day here in Adelaide . Doug and I went along the Linear Park  trails aside  the River Torrens , right into the city. Had a picnic lunch along the way .

 

For this post , I am sharing a sympathy card I made last week .

No paper layer surprisingly. .

I believe the embossing folder used is a Couture Creations one .

Well,  I hope you liked that design for a sympathy card .As for me I am sure it will grow on me as I look at it more .

Sorry that the photo of inside of card is so ordinary but found it hard to fit open card in that small hole of the camera ...LOL
Seriously though, I did want to show it off . I love that the guess work of matching papers is done by the guys at Kraftyhands .I just print from CD . The front and inside coordinate perfectly along with the sentiment panel .
For the front I layered the front panel onto some brown card stock and added some rhinestones . It really is a CAS card but any one else might add more embellishing .

As the title alludes to , this post is a small  collection of cards that have been made recently and now ready to share .

Really is a no fuss card, but I guess not quite a CAS creation . I think a great card design for scrappy bits of pretty paper though.

No words enough

Hello ,welcome to my room . Still oh so cold here in Adelaide , only making 14.8 degrees here today . We had an enormous electricity bill the other day but heck we have to stay warm ..
Doug still feeling the effects of his strokes cannot get warm even with his tracky dacks on and t-shirt underneath,  so aircon it is . Which means healthy me is running around in  only jeans and t-shirt but there you go ; if that's all we have to worry about life is still good .
Made time to make a very special card today . Fran's Mum passed away yesterday afternoon and as Fran comes to my workshops , she would have seen all the Sympathy cards I have so a new one was needed . Am sharing cause it is in the post box  already and I am pretty sure she wont see this post .

On the front of card base of Shimmery White I stamped the background stamp Floral in Blushing Bride ink . Diecut  and embossed  scallop oval for sentiment from Stamp-It. Flower, leaf and bow from my stash .

For the inside I inked Floral in Bashful Blue. Right hand sentiment is from Artee Stamps in Brocade Blue . And because I computer  printed the right hand signing in black , I thought a  small silhouette image might soften the tag . I chose this background stamp  because I know Fran likes the image .

Now I have 8 birthday cards needed for September so better sort that lot out .
Might even look around for some challenges later tonight .

 Here we are , well into the new week .My oldest son is due to visit tomorrow for a couple of days and  I have a few odd jobs that I hope he will take care of for me . One is the decobwebbing our back veranda . I cant believe that every nook and cranny has a web  attached . I manage to keep the clothes line free of spiders with a quick flick of the broom every day  but the rafters , heck that's another story ! And besides my 4foot something broom just isnt far enough away from the spiders!! So thank you in advance Danny .

I absolutely love Glossy White card stock but it's devishly hard to photograph . Here I  have embossed  a Glossy White layer.
Diecut two labels from same card , only embossing one of these ,, added sentiment, Stamp-it ,  on the other . Only a flower with bling centre  as an embellishment.
I love it , hope you do too .

Sympathy. ' say with flowers '

Hello and good evening friends . Hope that you have had a wonderful day . Welcome to my room .
I was saying yesterday that I was going shopping today . Here are some of the things I bought .

Some double sided papers ..lush as .

Some ..well lots , of diecuts and embossing folders , flowers [not that I dont have thousands already] 6x6" paper packs , vintage .

More embossing folders , some stamps , and tags .
Now I just have to find some room to store all this , must have gear!
I did manage to slip in a creation to try some things out . Here is a card to share .

Tonights posted  card is a one I have sent  to one of my dearest friends and crafting buddies, Sandy . Sandy is mourning the loss of her Step Father.
But before I share the card I would like to welcome Jane to the Christmas card Challenge I am running here 
Jane has used an image not usually seen as a Christmas character so it's worth going to her blog to check it out .

On my Mind.

Hello blogging friends, welcome to my room . Why is it that time, over weekends , seems  to speed by. Hope you are doing what you love to do with your time .

Quick ...no double quick post today . I have used this layout before in darker colours but this time I wanted something lighter , sunnier and  softer . Have you ever said " you're on my mind " ? Most times when I have said those words , the person in question has been in the forefront of my thoughts but this time,  in this case , I

wanted to show that thoughts of someone can be subtle , fleeting

and sometimes hazy but never the less warm and sincere.

I have used Whisper White as card base and So Safron , SU .

Ink is Summer Sun and I think I could have used a little darker yellow but I did not have So Safron ink so this had to do .

The image is from Pocket Silhouette, while the sentiment is from Upsy Daisy.

Scallop Trim Border punch used for bottom edge , where I placed some rhinestones as embellishment . Ribbon is from my stash .

Just a close up of image and sentiment .

Not very good but you get the idea I hope .

Next time will use something like

 Pumpkin Pie if I have not bought

the So Safron already.

EDIT 19.02.11 just a bit later.                 Changed colour of image and sentiment . Gave the sentiment a shadow effect . Ink used was Pumpkin Pie. Used Stamp-a-ma-jig to place new sentiment over first one .

Memories

Good evening , how are you on this our Australia Day? Hope that you have had a perfectly enjoyable  day with family and friends . Welcome to my room .
Todays card turned out just as I planned . It was great ...I went to my stamp stash,  found exactly the images and sentiment I wanted, no fuss,  and I even had the right size rhinestones I needed . Amazing !!

Our Thoughts

Welcome to my room on this last day of 2010. Hello my dear blogging friends . This is the special time of day , when I turn off the outside world and immerse myself in theraputic craft time . And to enjoy the company of like minded friends does contribute to my well being , believe me !
But to todays Sympathy card . Number 4 .

Card base is White Gloss card . I tore a rectangle of green vellum and attatched to card front . Around three sides,  on the card front ,  I doodled a frame .

Under the frame and vellum , I placed sentiment  [ Arty Stamps ] in green .

Then from my craft  stash I combined these flowers and ribbon to embellish.

Have not completed the inside but when I do I will edit post and share it with you then .

Deepest Sympathy

Hello , so happy you have called into my room . Welcome.
Hope that as you browse through my posts that you find something interesting or at least a creation that whets your craft appetite  and inspires you to create your own mini work of art.
Todays card is another for my Sympathy stash . Number 3.

Naturals Ivory  with  Soft Suede sponged edges is card base .

On a light blue matte I adhered some dsp from Graphic45 , then I distressed the blue edges.

On a tag from K&Company Journal Pad,  I stamped sentiment from Stamp-It , in Soft Suede. Adding some rhinestones around bottom edge and  bow at top embellished the tag before adhering to dsp. I then adhered blue matte to card front with foam tape .

For the insert I used some of the dsp and some light blue card with deckled edges which have been gold tinted . Sorry does not show in photo .
