Out of practice with indoor snapping too , me thinks .

Any way if I still have this blogging bug tomorrow night I will post some of my

 Christmas card makes .

Am hoping that you are all keeping well and safe .Look after each other and

I will see you here again soon . I will try to visit some blog posts tomorrow and I always leave comments .

Let there be music

Hello there and welcome to my room .Thank you for calling in and I hope that you are enthused by my effort to use up all the bit and pieces from freebies included in a magazine . I have found the challenge to be quite a blast as well as a challenge .

Here I am again with another card to share . Again this is created using the freebies from the same magazine as the last two makes . I think this one could be for a teenager or retro card  for an older person .What do you think ? Do you remember the Juke box ?

I cut the piano strip and the background music  from  the paper sheets . all the rest of the images are die cut images popped on with foam dots .

And the inside with some of the free paper

Really happy with this one .
Stay safe and stay well .

Catch you again soon ,cheers for now , Shirley-Anne .

Good Vibes

Hi there , Visitor . Thanks for calling in  and welcome to my room . Thank you to those  who left kind words on my last post and I will be sure to return the visit soon .

Well, today Hubby and I had our first Covid vac jab .So far so good with no reaction yet . Not that we are expecting any of course as none of our family or friends have indicated they had problems . Another good thing about today is that the sun  shone for most of it . I also saw some early blossoms on our gopher outing this morning so I am wondering if this a sign of an early Spring? We hope so as we are both so over Winter.

Tonight I am posting/sharing another card using those magazine freebies . If you would like to see the first card I created using this music themed freebie stamp and paper  ,then just scroll down . Actually this was a very generous freebie as it also contained some topper die cuts too .

This time my base card is Bermuda Bay with a layer of retired  SU Whisper White trimmed so that there is just a smidgen of a border . Again a smaller piece of fabulous patterned paper from the magazine is the final layer.

The records are die cuts which I have added over  images of records with foam dots while adhering sentiment and guitar die cuts   flat .

And for the inside I created the sentiment using  three  stamps from the free set .

Please be here and  on the lookout tomorrow night because I am sure that there will be another  music themed card to share  .How many do you think that I can create by only adding card stock?

                                       Till then .

Catch you again soon , cheers for now , Shirley-Anne .

Best hit song ever

Hi there , welcome to my room . Thank you for calling in .

I do hope that you are all keeping safe and are well .

Life has been so crazy for quite a while now and I don't know about you but I am finding it

harder to see  the bright side of things . Don't get me wrong because I really do appreciate

all that I have .Family and friends ,cyber chats and photos shared . A roof over my head , food

to eat and a  warm bed to sleep in .

Just hoping and praying that this virus will leave us sooner rather that later .

Went to a news agency on Friday and bought some craft magazines ,something I have

not done for  months . I think it was just the kind of therapy I needed .

Most craft magazines have some freebies included . So while I am enthused I am going to see how

many  cards I can make from one set of freebies.

Tonight,  a birthday card for a male family member .

I began with  a black square card base , added some scrap of  striped DSP from my stash

then using foam dots I adhered the two images as shown .

For the inside

The insert consists of a piece of  Daffodil Delight card and a smaller piece of Very Vanilla ,

on which I stamped a greeting from the set of included  freebie stamps .

So delighted with this gem of a card I think I will find a challenge to enter .

Catch you again soon , cheers for now , Shirley-Anne

Card for a beautiful day .

Hello once again and welcome to my blog .  I have been "researching " on Pinterest and viewing U-Tube videos and this card is my take of one video from   Connie Stewart,  https://simplysimplestamping.com/

Firstly I layered some DS Paper onto white card base leaving small border. Then  using the label punch set  edge to edge at bottom right, I punched it out and put it to one side . I punched out another label from the white scrap .Closing the card I put some adhesive to the label and carefully placed it  in the aperture so that when I opened the card the label was placed in the right spot on the inside of card . Now , I could have stamped the sentiment on the label first but as I was going to add the flower to front of card I wanted to be sure that the words were not obscured.

I stamped the 3 petals in green ink to create leaves  onto the white scrap using aqua pen to fill in colour  then punched it out .I stamped the petals again twice  in Black ink onto the red card stock scrap. After punching those out I stamped one of the  petals set with its black centre . I adhered both together with a foam dot  and the completed flower onto the lower petal of the green "leaves"

SU punches , SU Stamp set and card stock .

Lastly a small bow from Baker's Twine  from my stash was added using a sticky dot .

This is the first time that I have tried to use pictures of items used but this effort is so untidy  I realize that I need practice .

Art, in itself, is an attempt to bring order out of chaos.

Steady on!

Hi there , welcome to my blog and thank you for calling in . I do hope that you enjoy the card  that I  share today . May you stay a while and browse  through to other posts , and if you choose to leave a comment I will  appreciate that . Of course I will return the visit .

I don't believe that I have posted this card I created quite a while ago  so here goes .Certainly I apologize if I have done so .

The image was a freebie with a craft magazine and is coloured with copics .

Card base  is Crumb Cake.  I  layered  with another smaller piece after  this layer had a large circle die cut placed  on lower right corner and I sponged round the edges with Brocade Blue ink and then continued to ink all edges of layer .I then removed the die cut circle and stamped the image and sentiment within the shaded area . I then stamped second sentiment in top left corner . Just added some enameled dots for embellishment.

Thought this might suit for a Father's day card as well as a birthday card for a dog lover .

Hope you like this fun male card .

Catch you again soon , cheers for now , Shirley-Anne .

Just a note

Hi there . So lovely to see you here and to welcome you to my room . I hope that you are safe and well and are enjoying the holiday  long weekend .

While I am not keen on cold wintry weather , I do appreciate the time I get to spend in my craft room during this time of the year. Once again I thank the visitors who have popped in to see my last  post .Kind  words left in the comment box are all the encouragement and inspiration I need to share another make  . Crafty friends ,I hope that I can call you all my friends , let me know that you have called in and I will endeavour to return the visit .

Tonight I am sharing another card that  I will make into a kit to share with Sandy and Jane next  week .I think it is quite simple as I grabbed a stamp set that has been on my work bench for a while along with an embossing folder .I hope that you all think that the two compliment each other for this make .

Basic thick white for card base and embossed layer . Embossing folder is SU Tufted Dynamic Textured Impressions Folder. The stamp set SU Forever Blossoms is diecut  with Cherry Blossom Dies . The flower sprig is 3D onto scalloped circle of Pineapple Punch card stock .Just a note is from SU stamp set Posted For you . I added some small bling from my stash . I coloured with SU water colour pencils .

May enter this challenge

I am off now to visit some blogs and to check out pinterest . Enjoy the rest of your day and lets know what you have been up to .Thinking of you all with affection .

Catch you again soon , cheers for now , Shirley-Anne.

Make a wish

Hello and a warm welcome to you and you ..oh and of course you too .
Thank you to those who left comments on my last post .I read and appreciated each one .
I do hope that each visitor finds a little craft  inspiration from my posts.

I was struggling to choose a stamp set or indeed even an image for my next card . My mojo had no idea what type of  card that  I wanted to make . I mean I have hundreds of made cards in my stash ready for me to use or  donate  to the Salvos so it is not that I needed a specific card . Does any one else understand this situation ?  And I did not feel like trying a new technique this time .

Anyway  I was just browsing through Pinterest waiting for something to jump out at me . As  you do . Research I call it,  LOL.

I did give up and I thought bugger it I am going to my pile of stamps and the first thing I pick up is what I will use . Well do you think that this was the end of the dilemma? Frustrated by this time by trying out several papers and layouts I finally settled on this .

The empty bowl says it all .

SU Basic thick  White card base .SU stamp set Happy Tails using SU dog punch and I fussy cut the bowl . I layered images onto  die cut ovals using SU Layering Ovals Framelits dies . The sentiment is from  SU set Life is Grand . The back ground mat is from my Signature Neutrals Colour collection from Kraftyhands .

OH MY  I miss the girls from that UK group .Must go back through really early posts to see if they are still blogging and will say hello .      oops off the track here .

I cut around the sentiment and layered onto brown card to coordinate with the oval carrying the images .
The inside is blank but may well have a birthday wish sentiment .

Now if you have made it to the end of my post WELL DONE and thank you for sticking with it .

New challenge for me

Hi there ,how's things ? Thanks for calling in and welcome to my room .

I have not blogged for quite a long time and I really  only planned to check if I  had any visitors or comments to visit . As I  have not posted anything it came as no surprise that there were no comments BUT , I did have lots of views and I immediately felt guilty that I have not called in to visit any one for months .Of course I have been enjoying  my Thursday craft afternoon time with friends , Sandy and Jane . Quite truthfully,  I feel that I never have anything interesting to say and I have not taken any photos to share either .

All that aside,  here I am joining a challenge today from http://tuesdaymorningsketches.blogspot.com/  and here is the sketch I had to follow .

The design team did a fabulous job of providing some inspiration . SO HERE GOES .     I am guessing that the three circles can be placed in any position .

The card base is  SU thick Basic White card .The floral paper is  from SU Fine Art Floral DSP pack.
The green strip and rings are from a Project Life Pack The snail image is from SU cling stamp
" Snailed it "  while the sentiments are from a very very old SU stamp set " Whimsical Words"

That is if I am not too late .

Love this creation . I think because of the heartfelt sentiment at the bottom of the card. But I do think that I could have put the hello circle at the top and the snail in the middle .
There again my favourite saying comes to mind .." a blind man would be happy to see it as it is ".

Catch you again soon , cheers for now , Shirley-Anne .

Cards for workshop

Hi there visitors , welcome to my room . Hope that you are all staying safe and well .

Are you managing to get some craft time while coping with the current drama ? Do you think , as I do, that some people are already slipping back to bad habits? We went to a cafe the other day , Doug and I , and shuddered as we saw a staff member rub her nose , blow into a tissue and after disposing of it into a bin proceeded to her  drink bottle and back to work ...!!

Thank you for calling in and I hope  that you like my selection today . I had two friends over yesterday for a fabulous afternoon of friendship .While chatting,  nibbling nibbles and sharing life's  titbits we made three cards .

Some paper from my stash and SU  stamp sets , Posted For You ,along with the SU Stamp punch and Old Olive card stock . Home To Roost and Soft Suede card stock . The flower is from Little Ladybug, stamped onto Pineapple Punch card stock and diecut . The sentiment on this card is from Band Together set . I stamped the flower twice cutting the leaf from one then diecutting the flower only on the other . I did this because I wanted to place the die cut flower so that one of the leaves overlapped it . Just for something different . I forget the name of the SU embossing folder used for the middle card .

Goodness I am so out of practice for writing out recipes for cards made .

I Thought of You

Hello to you and thank you for calling in . Welcome to my craft room where cyber friends are really appreciated . Not much room to move around in here so ..you know, I love  the company of you all .

I do hope that you like what you see and if you have time you are welcome to browse my previous posts and leave comments on any of them . I read each one and will  find you to make a return visit .

Tonight I am using some relatively new SU  papers , one pretty SU floral stamp set greeting and one cute Lady Bug image and die  from another sweet  SU stamp and die bundle .

Night of Navy base card , Old Olive layer then a mat of beautiful paper from Paper Blooms DSP. The tag topper is of Old Olive and Whisper white card. The sentiment /greeting is , I thought , a change from a " thinking of you" wording and is from SU set , Climbing Roses . The cute  lady bug is from SU set, Little Lady Bug, and   I coloured it  with water colours .The awesome brad on the tag is something ancient from SU .  The tag topper has been adhered with foam dots .

So there you are just a quick card .

Oops ! I forgot a Birthday .

Any one know where  Summer went? Gosh we have had some windy, rainy and cool days here in Adelaide . Still , one good thing comes out of that .More craft time .

Welcome to my room and thank you for calling in . Tonight I am using a digi  image from Twistoon

https://www.facebook.com/Twistoonlisa .

Now I have used Lisa's images before like these

How many of you remember someone's birthday only to forget it days before it is due .
I have done this so many times , even though I have a list of  birthdays on the cupboard  door
in my craft room . So when I saw this doddery old Sheriff image , I knew it would suit my card .

A black card base , Brick wall paper layer , A white speech bubble White card for image
Coloured with water colours I cut the frame around the image so that some of  it overhung the edge .

For the inside the greeting is from SU stamp set ,Approaching  Perfection .

Great selection of images for sale on the site and I paid with Paypal so quick and easy .
Now I actually bought two images but one would not download for me so I emailed Lisa .I am happy to say that there was a quick reply and a return email with the image for me to copy and paste .I will use that one soon . I recommend a visit to her shop soon for  a huge selection of fun images .

This is what I learned: that everybody is talented, original

and has something important to say.

Celebrate in Style

Hello .hello.. hello . WOW , I am on a roll aren't I? . Am so chuffed to see some cards on my blog again.

Thank you for visiting and I do hope that you like what I  am sharing .

I appreciate the comments left on my previous post and if I haven't yet I will visit you all soon .

Now , before I share this next card I have to admit that I saw this design on one of the many crafting videos that I subscribe to .But after an hour of scrolling through googling videos of  Gift Card holder cards , I cannot find it again , even though I am sure I saved it .  So I am unable to credit this finding .If you know who made a video of this design please let me know ..

This video is worth finding , let me tell you . I will add it as I find it .

             FOUND THE LINK.

                               https://dawnsstampingthoughts.net/2018/03/celebrate-pocket-card-video.html

My take on a gift card holder .

I began as I saw on the video with an A4 black card base
Which is scored as if you were making two cards ....10.5cmx14.8cm
Then at the bottom on the left side cut from centre to left bottom corner  and the  centre to bottom right

So now you have base

I cut White card slightly smaller for back panels
I cut paper to suit then  die cut  black and then white card for a greeting .

I stamped Birthday wishes that will be seen when greeting piece
taken out

On the left side there is room for a gift card .

I diecut scallop oval and a smaller white oval on which I stamped the image and coloured with SU marker. I added a small strip of black ribbon before using foam pads to add topper . The sentiment is from SU stamp set , Beautiful You .

Well there it is . I have left off the bling as I will wait to see if card is to be hand delivered or posted .

Thank you again if you have popped in to my blog and please leave a comment
if you have the time and inclination to do so .

It's amazing that the amount of news that happens in the world every day always just exactly fits the newspaper.

Simply a Christmas card

Hi there visitors and welcome to my posting . Thank you for calling in .

The layout or design of my blog seems to have changed so I hope this goes well .  I  have  created   the first  Christmas card for 2021 .

Real Red card base, Whisper White layer with paper  from 6"x6"  Night Before Christmas DSP.

Sentiment from SU stamp set Timeless Tidings and centre image from Signs of Santa  set .

I cut the white card and the paper to the same measurements but cut a V from paper before adhering to white card  on which I stamped the sentiment .I stamped elf onto white card , coloured it then punched out before adding to die cut  Real Red scalloped circle , which I then adhered with foam dots over the V point

As you can see it is simply a simple Christmas card .

Hoping that you are all staying safe and well . And that you are checking up on the elderly family and friends .

I may enter this into a challenge or two ..
