I Seas you....

Brrrr....It is a cold one today !!  We may make 14 degrees C  here today .
I do hope that the weather is kind to you where ever you are .

Thank you for calling in and welcome to my room . I don't get too many comments to my posts so you can be sure that I will visit you too , if I know that you have called in . So please say hello in the comment box ..

My make and kit  today is for my friends Sandy and Jane to hopefully enjoy this week .
This is a new card  fold for me.I was inspired by the card made and posted by Gay Lynn on Pinterest.

Now if I were to make this again I would use Very Vanilla card for centre images and the sentiment .
But having said that I do still like this make .
By The Shore DSP, SU the back side of which is shown in part behind next picture of inside of card .
SU Whisper White card for centre images and sentiment and inside panel.
SU  Pacific Point card base and backing for images and sentiment .SU dies used .
Images and sentiment  from a freebie set with a magazine .

I took A4 card stock of Pacific Point ,Adhered a 10cm x 14.5 less 2cm to right hand top leaving small border top  and right .
 [C6 ordinary card to be 10.5cm x 15 less 2cm ]
I then embossed a line left side and bottom of what will become insert so that the base of card will be 10.5cm x 15 less 2cm .
I then cut from top left corner of A4 card to bottom right and folded along embossed lines so that the bottom section folded up while the left side folded in .
Now back to the front of card where I adhered DSP . I placed smaller circle just so that the top larger circle can tuck under and thus card can  stay shut .

As you can see this fold technique still gives you two C6 cards from one A4 card .

Tip..Use your bone folder to give crisp folds after lining up folded sides .

Thanks again for calling in and I hope you liked my post .

For the inside I found some cup cake images on Pinterest , printed and punched out on Whisper White . HB sentiment from SU set , Well Scripted .

Poor hubby has the dreaded MAN FLU and is not a happy chappy .
Therefore I have spent the day dispensing TLC and very little crafting .

Where's the cake?

Hello craft pals .Thanks for calling in .I do hope that you enjoy your browsing today .Please feel free to visit earlier posts and let me know that you have so that I can return the favor .

Rained all day here and not very warm to boot . Forecast is for hot days ahead .Give me a break!! I would like to pack away at least one season's clothing ..you know what I am saying??

Today I am sharing a fun card that I have made  using SU Tasty Trucks .

Pumpkin Pie card base, SU  , Whisper White mat embossed with Festive Textured Impressions , SU .
Image stamped on white card and coloured with markers and copics. then layered onto some Pacific Point card with sentiment , also from this set , added  below . I have not decided what bling / embellishing if any I will add yet .If I decide to I will take another photo and change this one .

Well I saw that i had forgotten to colour in the windows and I did add some  bling  . decided just to add the second photo ..I do like the finishing touches .

Now for the inside ...

Love it when a stamp set has sentiments that  "go together " like this front and inside .

Well Scripted

Goodness here it is Monday again .
Hi every one . Welcome to my room. Thank you for calling in .
Hope that you and yours are well and that you all had a happy week end .

I think that Autumn has left us rather quickly and Winter is in a hurry to get an early start.
It has been rather cold and wet the last few days with more to follow this week .
I don't mind , preferring to go with the flow and adjust my  plans  for the day accordingly.

No card making as such over the week except for yesterday afternoon , when , after browsing through craft magazines I was inspired by a set of cards by Sue Rowe in ACMS&P MAG.

Safe to say all products used from my craft room stash .
The sentiment is from a SU set , Well Scripted,  that I have not used for yonks . In fact I have not inked much lately .

For those of you who are following my wt. loss progress , here is an update .

Ok,  scales need a dusting sorry . 80.8 kg again . This is harder than I thought it would be .
But I have been encouraged by comments I have had , both on line and personally so I will keep trying .Having said that I think I will try some shake drink thing only because I just cant seem to find the time out I need to walk as exercise .

I don't really ..just sticking to meals except when craft friends are here and the odd treat so I don't feel like my throat has been cut .

Catch you again soon , cheers for now , Shirley-Anne

Just For You

Hi..

Welcome to my room and thanks so much for calling in . Thank you too for all the comments you leave for me to read , which I do . I hope that my new followers enjoy their visits to my room from time to time

Just quick post , tonight , of a card I shared with Fran and Sandy on Tuesday morning

The image and sentiment are from a free set that came with a magazine ..
This is my interpretation of a tent card seen in the same magazine .
I cant believe that I'm still keeping my NY Resolution to complete inside of card straight away.

There were two others but I'll share them another night ..
Actually It is a wonder I managed this post tonight as I have for the last three days been quite off colour. Don't know if it is something I ate or if I have picked up a nastie from somewhere .
But I have spent quite bit of time in the toilet . I even had to get up 6 times last night .On the bright side, I have lost 2kl in 3 days ..WHOOPIE ..NOT .
Well thats it from me now .Hope that you all enjoy some great crafting moments soon .

Catch you again soon , cheers for now , Shirley-Anne

A Sparkling Ale for Birthday

Whew a warm one today .
A prelude to Christmas day , weather man says .
Hi there , welcome to my room and thank you for calling in .
Doug and I went for our usual coffee early this morning to beat the heat . We have been out at different times of the day as of late to several of the centres  that are near us and were surprised at how quiet the shopping centres are and how meagre the Christmas decorations are adorning the malls .There was also a distinct lack of Christmas Carols being played  everywhere . .
Need an earlier night tonight so am sharing this card  now , that I made for my  card  ladies Sandy and Jane .
I think it is called a tent card or  a teepee shape card  or at least my version of . LOL

Bashful Blue for card base and Whisper White for image . Gold sentiment sticker and gold border sticker
A pink marker for wine colour and KindyGlitz for sparkle.
I had only added border to the sides but after a suggestion from Sandy , I placed some around the bottom of front  panel  as well to finish.
And to show the other sides I've laid the card flat .
As you can see photo was taken before adding extra gold border sticker to bottom .

A balloon , coloured with Pumpkin Pie ink  and paper pieced . The gift box on other side is coloured with green marker .
This was fun to make and would like to make another but use some DSP on side panels next time .
Hope you like it
Catch you again soon , cheers for now , Shirley-anne.

Sunshine

Hello blog pals . Has your weekend begun well? I hope so . Welcome to my room .Hope that you see something you like, as you browse.
We have had our Son and his partner staying with us  for a couple days . Such a treat , as they live away and visits are rare . I had a class of beginners this afternoon and I have one tomorrow with some more experienced papercrafters .As you can imagine it has been full on here .
To top that off Doug has been toddling  [ slow unsteady walking ] around the unit .Showing off a little , I think . Really pleased with himself!
BUT , on to my card for today .
                                                           Recipe
Marina Mist, Pear Pizzazz, Whisper White.SU
                                               DSP from stash
                                                 Image and sentiment from Kaszazz
INK , Soft Suede, Regal Rose.
                                                 Copics B00, Y17

Loved the way this came together . Quite happy in fact .
Enjoy the rest of your weekend  doing what ever it is you will be doing .

Birthday Bash

Good evening every one thanks for popping in . Welcome to my room .
I had a fantastic  morning with 4 bestest friends ever. There were
tears of laughter as we chatted and  teased each other while cardmaking .
And some of our quick comeback one liners were so funny we must have sounded like  productive chooks in a pen .. I spied Doug shaking his head and grinning several times .

I have used this image recently and along with many silhouette images I just love using  it.

Now I did take this photo outside so I dont know why the glossy White card looks pinky .I will edit later after taking another picture .
                                                                     Recipe
                                                        Glossy White card
                                                        Basic Black ink
Itty Bitty Backgrounds,SU.  Birthday Fancy Notes[ Hero Arts]
                                                       Dancing , Stamp-it.
                                                      Markers to colour.

I used the Itty Bitty Background as party confetti and had the challenge been two layers I would have used a punch for a disco ball and adhered that to top . As it is there are no other layers on this card . No embellishments used .

Windy as anything here so going out the back to ensure everything secure .
Catch you again soon . Cheers for now , ShirleyAnne.

Join Us?

Hello my friends , hope you are all well . Welcome to my room . Just an update on Doug's progress. Thank you for all the Get Well Wishes he has received and to all those who have kept us in their thoughts and Prayers . Doug is so much more mobile now , not leaning on me at all when using his walking frame . His speech is really  clearer  and his appetite is returning . A long way to go yet but heading in right direction .
Well last night I made a card using a technique I had not thought about for ages .
I don't know the name for it but it's this....
Using an embossing folder and leaving a clear piece/ shape  for sentiment or an image . Mmm.. that   clear , not sure , but I'll try to show you .. This is the card I created

The image is stamped onto unembossed oval shape . To achieve this I made a template from two pieces of cardboard taped together and  with an oval cut out. This is called a shim .

See how I have drawn shape of folder onto this template so that  I can see where oval cutout will be when I place the folder and cardstock on it . Then I place cardstock into folder as usual

And emboss with Big Shot. EDITTED HERE..
This is where you place the folder and card on top of the cardboard before running through the machine . Embossing is all about pressure , so where the oval is,  will be no pressure for the folder to impress the pattern from the folder onto card. The cardboard acts as a "thickness for added pressure"

For this example I chose this sentiment from Penny Black.

Rose Red card base with Whisper White card for embossing . Basic Black ink for image from Art Impressions. Sponged edges with Rose Red ink and black Rhinestones as embellishing .
Found tutorial for this here . http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GA8mEoNYHdk
Thank you for popping in hope that you found post interesting .

Birthday Celebrations

Hi there every one. Welcome to my room .
I am sure that you all are aware of the dramatic events that are happening as we speak. I am refering to the States of Queensland  and New South Wales and may be others that I am not aware of , where record floods are devastating lives and landscape. I know that times are tough for many of us and money donations may be hard to find , so do you think that just maybe you could rummage through your linen press or wardrobe and find some items that you could spare for the Red Cross / Salvation Army?  In any event ,please keep all those who are affected by this tragedy in your thoughts and prayers .
But now onto today's card .
I started out with a man's card in mind but not sure if I ended up with one .

Very overcast here in Adelaide so photo not so bright .
Soft Suede and Naturals Ivory and scrap of blue cardstock  used . Butterfly from All A Flutter, SU. Inks , Soft Suede and Pacific Point.  Sentiment from Upsy Daisy set SU. Chocolate Chip ribbon SU. Scallop Trim Border Punch SU used on Ivory layer and I added little pearls inbetween each scallop. . Butterflys wings are curled and  are both   adhered with foam tape .
In any case I ended up with a creation I rather like so ...all good!
I am off now to go through Kitchen cupboards to see if I really need 3 potato mashers, 4 eggflips , those 6 new teatowels ...
Catch you all again soon , cheers Shirley-Anne
