Cards for workshop

 Hi there visitors , welcome to my room . Hope that you are all staying safe and well .

Are you managing to get some craft time while coping with the current drama ? Do you think , as I do, that some people are already slipping back to bad habits? We went to a cafe the other day , Doug and I , and shuddered as we saw a staff member rub her nose , blow into a tissue and after disposing of it into a bin proceeded to her  drink bottle and back to work ...!!

Thank you for calling in and I hope  that you like my selection today . I had two friends over yesterday for a fabulous afternoon of friendship .While chatting,  nibbling nibbles and sharing life's  titbits we made three cards . 

  

Some paper from my stash and SU  stamp sets , Posted For You ,along with the SU Stamp punch and Old Olive card stock . Home To Roost and Soft Suede card stock . The flower is from Little Ladybug, stamped onto Pineapple Punch card stock and diecut . The sentiment on this card is from Band Together set . I stamped the flower twice cutting the leaf from one then diecutting the flower only on the other . I did this because I wanted to place the die cut flower so that one of the leaves overlapped it . Just for something different . I forget the name of the SU embossing folder used for the middle card . 

Goodness I am so out of practice for writing out recipes for cards made .

On your special day

                    Hi there crafty pals , welcome to my room .
                         Thank you for calling in .

I have been making a kit ,today, for the new year workshops . My friends are avid experienced card makers so it is not as though I am actually teaching anything .Instead I  create  kits for them to make up while we chat , compare new purchases and   share news  about our lives  generally.


 

 

Among my card stash I found lots of SU  note cards which I mostly use as thank you cards but because I do have a lot , I am making a few small cards as birthday cards . 

With this one I have used 6''x6'' DSP from the Brights pack and covered the front

Then I added a panel   of lighter blue card with a smaller white panel for image and sentiment . 

Both the image and the sentiments are from retired SU  sets . 

Water coloured the image  using SU inks 

Just added a few candy dots for interest .

There was a good sized piece of the paper left so I used it for the inside of card with a die cut label for greeting . 

I do hope that you enjoyed my share today . I do appreciate comments if you would care to leave   one I will return the visit .

Birthday wishes

Hello visitors .Thank you for calling in .
Welcome to my room where I am happy to share some time with you .Still getting the blogging groove going here , trying to post on a regular basis .

I must say that I am enjoying the visits to some of my oldest fellow crafters pages ...Not that they are necessarily old in years I mean , you know but  that they have been sharing their makes for quite some time ...WHEW! I hope I got outa that one ok LOL

Adelaide ,in fact quite a large portion of Australia is , like,very hot ,sweltering in fact .Just googled  the temperature here in Adelaide and it is 43 degrees . You know , that info does not make me feel any better ...

But ,sharing my make for today will definitely raise my spirits .

This sweet card  has a SU Thick Whisper White   card base .I am using retired card Tangerine Tango and some Gingham paper from my stash as mattes for my labels and the sentiment, which is from SU  Best Bunny stamp set . The floral image is from Bloom and Grow cut with Budding Blooms dies Both SU products .
The labels once adhered together are added to card front with foam dots just so message pops a bit .
I coloured  floral spray  with SU water colour  inks  and an aqua pen .
Not one for a lot of embellishing I just added a little heart to top of label .

We all need fun friends

Hi there .  Welcome .

How awesome  is this ? I have missed blogging . Also missing the visits to other blogs .
Nothing boosts one's morale , lifts one's spirit or encourages one to create more than kind words from another like minded person . Bit like life in general really.

Any way , thank you to those who left comments on my last post . Now you all will be stuck with me for another season ,LOL

Today I am sharing a card using stamps that have not felt the kiss of ink for quite some time . If the sentiment seems  crooked please believe me when I say I did mean for that to be the case . My colouring has indeed suffered from  lack of practice , sad to say . BUT when I am a little disappointed with anything on my creation   I always say to myself that a blind person would be happy to see it .

This time I have used  SU thick  Whisper White  card base with a SU  Chocolate Chip mat.
Again on a layer  thick WW I inked Art Impressions " Girl Friends" set and used one of the sentiments included . On the inside I used another which reads..
" Wishing you a wonderful birthday filled with love and laughter"
 This came from a freebie with a magazine and I thought that it complimented the front of the card very well .
I agonized whether or not to add embellishments and in the end I decided for just 3 enamel drops .

I have long been a fan of CAS cards and so most of my makes  have been of CAS  style .

I think mainly this is so because I suck at placing embellishments and  postage costs rise dramatically when letters are bulky .

after I had adhered the Whisper White to the Flirty Flamingo card I used my SU  cropadile to make holes in the corners before adhering to back of card . Looks cool in real life !

Just for you

Hello there craft buddies . Welcome to my room and thank you for calling in .
I do hope that all is well with you and yours .

It was 3 c degrees this morning when I got up then promptly went back to bed . Snuggling back under the blankets on a Sunday morning and listening to the wireless is such a treat . But of course it does make for a late breakfast which really does throw the normal daily  routine right out the window .
Oh well , it is said  that a change is as good as a holiday so I guess I am on holidays today . LOL

Another change today is that  I am sharing two cards here in this post .
Just simple quick cards , I must say .

Firstly , one using an image from an Art pad from LOTV as a topper .
A white card base with a green card layer . Both SU card stock  from my stash .
The tag die and sentiment stamp  are from a free set in a magazine .
The bling from my stash .
                                                           

 

The sentiment ensures that the card can be used for birthday, Mothers' day or get well card .

As the title alludes to , this post is a small  collection of cards that have been made recently and now ready to share .

I loved how this quick card turned out with the simple layout and no colouring AND NO EMBELLISHING . Well ok 3 rhinestones .

Found this SU embossing folder for the first layer just suited the masculine feel that I was after .

A pleasant Friday afternoon

Had a pleasant Friday afternoon when my usual Friday  craft buddie, Jane ,  who  bought along another of my regulars, Sandy,  to grace my table .

Jane made up a couple of kits that I had prepared earlier and then wanted to make a specific card , which I will share with you in a tic .

Firstly this is one of the cards I had made into a kit ..

I believe the style is called a Joy Fold .Whisper White ,SU , for card base . Papers, red card,  SU .

Card from my stash , Die cut lantern and leafy border from Sandy , and Jane bought the sentiment  house image , idea for design  and fence.. A real combined effort here and I thought it worth sharing .

Today is First Day .

Hi there , welcome to my room . Thank you for calling in.
Welcome to a new follower Bridie .
 Just a quick mid week post to share a card made for  craft friends and our Tuesday get together .

This fabulous pre coloured  image is  from an ART PAD from Lili of the Valley, Set 1, Vintage Boys
 The card base is SU, Early Espresso. The 1st layer is textured card stock from ALACRAFT  Loved this card stock  as it has a leather look to it . 2nd layer is striped paper from Country Gent 8"x8" paper pack , NIT WIT COLLECTIONS.  The sentiment is from an unmarked pack of clear stamps ..

OH nearly forgot .
Doug was sitting in his chair near our  lounge window , dozing on and off while I was in craft room , today . Suddenly , he yells out for me .It appears that a koala is walking down the driveway towards the main road . Oh boy what a mad dash for camera and front door . I caught up with "it" as it was stepping off footpath into peak hour traffic .
What a spectacle I made of myself ..arms waving about as I slowed the traffic to a crawl.
The koala manage to make the medium strip and scurried up a tree. A motorist pulled up and rang the fauna rescue number and I went back to reassure Doug that all was well .

Not a photographer but hope you can see the koala .

You know ...there is so much to do on blogger and posts and comments and browsing ..joining this and joining that   clubs groups and forums . All of a sudden it becomes a bit  overwhelming .

BUT DON"T WE LOVE IT!!

Well I do,  but sadly I have neglected a few places .

I have just rediscovered Splitcoaststampers  now I must visit the gallery tomorrow .

For tonight though,  I am sharing a card my friends and I made up for Tuesday morning workshop .

Of course it is another CAS card.

Whisper White card base  with some black and white gingham paper from my stash .The bunting , the sentiment and the elephant image all from a free stamp set on a magazine .

Stepping out

Hi there . welcome to my room . Hope that you and yours are well . Thank you for calling in . Another cold day here in Adelaide .
 Jane came this afternoon for a bit of crafting .Oh,... she was not feeling too flash ! All stuffy and generally out of sorts ..all this caught from someone else not me !!
I tried to give her lots of TLC. Must have worked as there were 6 cards   made up .
One of which was this .

Nice to be feeling better , I tell you , feeling crook is no fun.

 Loved this T-shirt  diecut and stamp set . I cut two shirts in Bashful Blue and Pumpkin Pie card and cut the collar and cuff  from blue and paperpieced them onto Pumpkin Pie shirt .

Well a photo heavy post but still a quick one I think ..Just looking now for my thought for today .

Male Birthday card

An earlier hello today . Hi there , blog pals .Thanks for calling in to see  me .
Hope that you are happy with your weather , where ever you are . Still very cold here in Adelaide . Not complaining,  really , cause it is great crafting time . I know I have said that before but it is true and I am making the most of it .
This card I'm sharing today is another from Tuesday morning with Sandy .

I just see ..I think I  have that poor fish upside down!!  I sponged sand , sea and sky with various inks and added   3D  metalic boat sticker , fish and shell in bubble. I made this as a DT member for  a new  ATC Challenge Blog   . Why don't you pop over there and see the other DT members examples and some of the entries  on show . May be you would like to join in .
