Celebrate all that is Vintage

Hi again today as I present a second posting .I had a break ,prepared and ate a pizza for lunch after sharing  the first card .

While the washing machine was working I visited some blogs to leave comments and checked out some challenges . This is something that I really missed while  my blog was down .

The sun is shining outside but there is very little warmth from it ..roll on Summer .

Now I have a masculine card to share today .One that was made a short while ago to add to my stash

There is a SU  Basic Black card base with a layer of black and white dotty paper .I have added, with liquid glue, 2 car images from my stash .A SU punch used to create  the label for the sentiment .

Thanks for visiting today and I hope that you let me know that you have been so that I can visit you too .

                                 Till next time

Catch you again soon , cheers for now .

                                  Shirley-Anne.

WOW things can go right

Now a lot has happened here since my last posting . Hubby , Doug, went into hospital with a ruptured artery in his stomach . Scary , HUH! You bet !! All good now , home again .

Cold and a few showers here today so no going out and time here in my craft room .

Well now onto my make to share today .

A quick card for today as I make sure that my blog really is working ok . I used an unidentified SU card stock for base and a Tropical topper also from SU .Stamped greeting is from Stamp-it.
Will enter this challenge

I have missed crafting and sharing and am so happy to be back here.
Don't know about you but warmer weather would be appreciated .
I should be able to visit you  and you soon and also join in some challenges , but for today hope that you enjoy browsing my blog .

Two note cards

Hello visitors , welcome to my blog post . I hope that you and yours are well or if you have been unwell, then  I hope that you are on the improving list .

Today I have 2 cards to share . They are really  simple , quite plain actually . I began both with a SU basic thick white card base with a smaller piece of same thick white  card .

The first card has a sentiment "just a note" from Everyday Messages Stamp set  , www.stampendous.com while the image is  an old favorite  from Penny Black , called Fragrant Letter  .      The lovely wooden heart  embellishment was a gift from a swap card friend , Karen Chuck .

I colored flowers  with yellow shades of  Copic  pens  .The letter itself was smooched with water color pencil .  I rubbed the pencil onto a stamp block and added a couple of drops of water then with a wide brush head I picked up the color and smooched the edges of the letter.

My second share

The  fruit image and the sentiment are  from  a freebie in a magazine along with a matching die. I have colored the pears  with a couple of shades of green Copic pens . I stamped one image direct to the layering  card , the other I stamped on scrap , colored and diecut adding that with foam dots .For this note card I have added a bit of bling to corners .

I did enjoy creating these two ..I consider this style to be my favorite to make. So I am hoping that you liked  them too .

                                        Till next time .

Catch you again soon , Cheers for now, Shirley-Anne.

Birthday Wishes

Hello and welcome. Thank you for calling in .

Hoping that you are all well and are happy in  your endeavors .

Well , the morning was fine again  as we sat in the warmth  at the front of our unit .People were giving us a wave  and chatting .But as clouds rolled in and covered the sun , it got decidedly cooler .We thought that it might have improved .It just did not . Doug said no to me going inside for a lap rug .

So we came inside and while Doug dozed in his chair I checked the mail and set about  crafty blogging   about  what I think is a very beautiful creation  for  a  feminine  friend .

Beginning with  a soft pink card base I added a  smaller , white , embossed layer . I had left 3cm from the base free of embossing for the stamping of sentiment . I forget where it came from .
Sorry , I am out of practice with keeping track of measurements and products used ..
I used some retired SU ribbon to cover the border of the embossing .I then made a small pink square with a smaller white square for the flowers and a butterfly as a topper which was adhered using foam dots .
Another card for my stash .
If you have made it thus far ,you are very patient .
Thank you again  for your visit .

Catch you again soon , cheers for now ,
Shirley-Anne

A Real Treat .

                                      Hi there , Welcome .

Happy Monday to all  visitors . Thank you for calling in .

Thanks to those who viewed last post and left a word or two .

I hope that you have been enjoying sunny weather today . Doug [hubby] and I have been sitting out the front of our unit just watching the world go by . Other residents have been waving hello to us with some stopping to say hello .Doug is 86 and not in the best of health and I fear that our gopher rides together are a thing of the past .

We often travelled the length of Linear Park from the gorge to the city , having a picnic lunch on the way . Gosh with warm season on the way I am sure the missing will become stronger .
Life goes on and crafting helps ....

For a  dog lover in our Family I have made a card for an up coming  birthday . I hope he likes it .

The sentiment , bowl and the cute canine  are  from a SU stamp set ,Pampered Pets . These and  paper from my stash all added to a white card base .I am hoping that the colors , grey and green compliment
the orange .

If I can find a challenge that this card will suit then I will be back here  to enter it .
Hey , if you have a suitable challenge ,for me , feel free to let me know in a comment and I will give you a plug . in the mean time I am off to challenge search or is that surf..

Catch you again soon , cheers for now , Shirley-Anne .

Your special day

Well here we go again . Really getting to enjoy visiting  blogs again and commenting .

Thank you to those who have commented on my last few posts . If I have not already then  I will be visiting you soon .

It took a while to get comfortable  into the writing habit  though . As well as that part ,  I have not joined into a challenge for so long that I hope I remember how to use the  linky thing .

I would like to enter this card in the https://movingalongwiththetimes.blogspot.com/

The challenge being      Emboss Wet or Dry

I like embossed back ground layers as they seem to highlight the next layer , be it an image alone  or a panel .  I made this card with the purpose of showing that green and blue can go together ..
So it is a green card base with same coloured layer that was embossed with a swirl folder .
Next , I added a blue panel with a smaller scrap  piece of floral paper .
Then using layered scallopped dies and a circle punch I added a sentiment found in my stash .
To finish the card I added 3 gold bits of  bling .

Well that is all for today .
Thank you for calling in .

Cheers for now catch you again soon .

Two for one .

Hello and welcome once again to my blog post . Thank you for calling in .

I really enjoyed making this card because it is a little different . And it was created using ends of papers from my scrap stash . Now once again this was made some time ago so no names of papers . I promise though once I have published cards already made I will endeavour to write a recipe for my new makes .

Fair warning now ..there are a several  photos of the stages of this creation, the idea of  which I found on Pinterest .

This small card is 8cm x 10.5cm with some beautiful scrap of SU paper . I added some bling to the centre of some of the flowers .

This is the card front or the small card holder and it is just one piece  10.5 x14.8cm.
Once again paper is from SU .
There is the addition of the corner piece which will hold the small card .

On the back of this I have stamped the greeting which came as a freebie on a magazine ..I think .

The finished  project shows now  all together .
Blue and green do go together  some times .

As I said ,I really enjoyed creating this . Simply a sweet ,different ,  easy project . I acknowledge that I copied the idea .

I do hope that you found this card interesting and if you make one ,I do hope that you share it too .

Hope that we have another day like today .it was sunny and Doug and I enjoyed sitting outside for a couple of hours .After lunch two special craft pals of   mine, Sandy and Jane , called in for a cuppa . As Doug was feeling a little better he sat up with us girls and brightly chatted along too .

Thanks again for calling in . Leave me a word or two and I would love to see what you have been up to and what you have created .

Catch you again soon, cheers for now .

A Tiny Birthday Note

Hello again ..Hope all are well and have some quality time for yourselves .

I am trying to get into the habit of writing and sharing something every day . Not that I  have many interesting events going on in my life or exquisite makes to share but some one somewhere might relate to that which I do share .

I have promised myself to visit at least 3 blogs every day , sharing  a  comment before I leave .

And more importantly, this will keep me inspired , even encouraged in my own crafting .

It has been a busy week , more I think , as hubby has been a little off . I have been very busy  tending to his needs while encouraging him to do as much as he can the best as he can .

Quiet time , personal time is a treasured thing but friendship with ones loved  spouse has the highest value .

Tonight I am sharing another make from a few days ago .

No details as a recipe because I did not know at the time that I would restart blogging and sharing again .Next time I must use a plain back ground for the photograph .
The papers are from SU as is the card base
I am  not  sure  of the origen of the  sentiment sorry .
The pretty little bows were from a cheap shop .

Well there you go my post is at its end .
If you have made it thus far thank you,  and I hope that you enjoyed your visit .

Catch you again soon, cheers for now .

All the Best

Hi there . Welcome to my blog  post today .  Thank you for calling in and I hope that you like my card .

This creation is inspired by some thing I saw on Pinterst . I went back later to look for it to save and acknowledge the crafter , but lost it .

The card  front has been embossed  using the SU Country Floral Dynamic Textured Embossing Folder .

It gave a  lovely deep embossed image .

I used a   Die-namics  Stitched Basic Edges  from My Favorite Things to create the white and grey topper  which I added with foam dots after stamping the image taken from  SU stamp set Asian Artistry and the sentiment All the Best Cursive 4526D.  Coloured with Copics . The grey is only a strip added to edge of white with minimum  liquid glue.

The card stock for card base is SU . Merry Merlot , now retired  .

I love this design and I just know that I will use it again .
Off now to visit some blogs .I have been away for far too long .

I still have a few cards to share with you so I do hope that  you check my post /blog again
soon and may be leave a word or two .

Catch you again soon , cheers for now .

Hi there blog friends , from a lazy blogger . I do hope that life is treating you all well .

Hi to Chrissy , and Sandy and Jane ,Gail ,Doreen and Lynn too .

I placed a photo of this card  here which I created back in June , fully intending to post with a few words but totally forgot about it . I was also intending to destash my craft room .

I found a stash of card toppers bought  from a cheap shop and added to this card . White card base , two shades of green card with white ribbon to separate .I die cut  and added the smile word to the top darker green along with some heart bling .

Talk about simply easy .
But the purpose of this excercise was to stimulate my appertite for card making , blogging and to be inspired by blog land again . If it has,  then you will see me here again soon .
In the mean time I will visit your blog soon .

Catch you again soon , cheers for now , Shirley-Anne

Life is a series of natural and spontaneous changes. Don't resist them - that only creates sorrow. Let reality be reality. Let things flow naturally forward in whatever way they like.

Christmas Cheer

Hello to you, and to you and of course you . Thanks for calling in .

I do hope that you enjoy your browsing .

Thanks also for the comments on past posts .

Another Christmas card made and shared for this years  stash .

How early do you begin to make your Christmas cards ?

This is the time  when I miss having a table at  the nearby church where a few ladies would join me for card making .Some ladies were craft experienced and others not so much . I loved  enthusing and encouraging others to create and I always marvelled at the joy  the newbies displayed when they held up their completed card .

                                Todays share

Real Red card base in C6 [10.5cm x 14.8 cm ] size

Paper matte  from stash cut a little smaller , Before adhering to card base  I punched a 2''circle from the paper as shown . Then from a scrap of Whisper White I punched a smaller 1.3/4'' circle on which I stamped sentiment in Basic Black ink. I then adhered this inside the larger cut out before adding a small red gingham bow from my stash .

The diecut image of the mug is a freebie from a magazine and it is added with foam dots .   A  few self adhesive SU  Rhinestone Basic Jewels to adorn the  front finished the card .

Supposed to be a hot  41 here today so will  be off now to check that  Doug still has a cold drink at hand .

Catch you again soon , cheers for now , Shirley-Anne .

Wistful thinking

Hi there , welcome to my room and thank you for calling in .

Well , I think that I have acheived my craft project for today which was to create  a vintage themed card .

So happy to be back in blog land .Not as much time on my hands now as Doug needs /wants more time with me .Access cab days out for coffee and shopping ,Gopher days out for parks and bakery coffee and snacks and also keeping up with  health related appointments .

Todays effort ..

She does look wistful....

The 14.5" square  card base here is SU  retired ,Cinnamon Cider.

The floral  and striped paper from pretty  KraftyHands Fatale Paper  Stack

The beautiful image also from KraftyHands Femme Fatale cards pack .

The lace, small butterfly and pearl bling are from my still huge stash.

I did trim a little from one side of the image , adhered it to a slightly larger coordinating , Cajun Craze [ still available from SU] then onto slightly larger Cinnamon Cider  . Then I tore the edges of that before adding the  image with foam dots .

Thanks again for looking , hope you ejoyed the viewing and please feel free to browse and or leave a word or two as I enjoy reading them and will visit you too .

Three bows for you

I stared at the  new  blog page and wondered how  amazing it is .How it provokes   the fear  of not  filling that blank space with interesting ,exciting ,wise, uplifting and  sometimes comforting words .

Well as my life is so predictable caring for Doug , nothing exciting happens from one day to next day .

BUT  it is still a beautiful world . So I will  be cheerful and strive to be just happy to share my make for this post .

PS..... and to browse through  a few posts of   friends in craft .

My card to share today .

Made this some time ago with paper from my stash and a bow punch .loved creating the bows out of different papers and just adding a few  little self adhesive  dots .
The sentiment  from Hero Arts is inked in black .
The card base is  SU  Whisper White.

Would this be classed as CAS ? What do you think ?

I think my next creation will be something Vintage .If I trip over some  paper or ribbon that looks even  slightly vintage , if I can unravel said ribbon and if I can find vintage looking lady image  ...Mmm
That is my project for tomorrow .
Please watch this space .

Catch you again soon , cheers for now , Shirley-Anne .

About me , Shirley-Anne 06/05/2015

Wow !! hi there everyone .

This post is a blast from the past when I was just beginning to publish .  This was supposed to have been posted years ago when our daughter , Michelle , was running her "Make it Monday" I must have been called away and did not notice that it was not published . The blog  is not going now but I am posting tonight as I reminisce   about my early card making days .

Joining Michelle on Make it Monday, right at the beginning of its journey, would have to be the proudest moment , ever, and watching her take it to the dizzy heights it now enjoys,  it was  quite simply, awesome .

I love this too because it allows me to share the cards I create with all who visit my blog .

I have been card making for several years now . I began by recycling Christmas cards until I bought my first stamp and the rest is history . I would say that my style is definitely CAS, although I do make some vintage styles with a little embellishing flowers or bling .

My favourite colours are from the Autumn spectrum and my favourite tool would have to be the stamp-ma-jig . Then, my favourite research tool is my computer where there is an unending supply of inspiration .
I enjoy sharing my love of papercraft and stamping , holding workshops at home .

Just one of the cards created many moons ago .

My Husband and I live in Adelaide , Australia .
Our leafy suburb , Campbelltown has many parks , most of which are a few minutes walk from home .
This is Morialta Falls just a 20 minute walk away .
I enjoy walking everyday .

                                                       Ducks at Lochiel Park.

I love and am grateful for,   the age I am , the place in which I live , my family and friends .
This is me , Shirley-Anne , really .
And now 2023 and lots older

of course Doug and I both  gopher out and about now .

Well there you go , what a memory provoking post ..for me anyway .

Will be back later with a current creation on the weekend .
Hope you did not mind an old woman's ramblings .

Love your friends and family with your entire being ,

as they are the most important part of your life .

Catch you again soon , cheers for now , Shirley-Anne .

Season's Greetings

Welcome to my room where I hope that you like my card .  Thanks for calling in and I look forward to visiting you too if you let me know that you popped in  .

Recently  from a Newsagency I bought a pack of elements and card kits   with which  I could create some quick Christmas cards . I have been out of  inspiration for crafting as of late and thought  that I might be enthused by some of the quick ideas .

Then as I began to browse the internet for challenges I found this one

 https://giveacrafteracokie.blogspot.com/2023/01/cookie-challenge-176-january-red.html

Suits me, so I will enter my make .

I began with a red card base .Found some scrap red and white striped paper and cut a strip  5cm wide which I adhered to side of card then trimmed to fit . I centred a topper from the pack with foam squares .
A touch of bling and a simple Christmas card  was made .

Once again thanks for the visit .

May the forces of evil become confused on the way to your house.

Sporty T-shirt

I hope that you are all enjoying your day where ever you are . Welcome to my blog post and thanks for calling in .

I am on a masculine card kick right now so my last two posts have been in  that vein .

I wonder if any of my old Kraftyhands [www.kraftyhands.co.uk]

teamies still have their stash of  CDs . This one of my stash is  called Sports Shirts .

Beginning  with a basic black card base I added a mat of black and white spot paper . I printed out the T-shirt from the CD onto Very Vanilla card stock and cut it out, adhering to card with foam dots. Then stamped and punched out the sentiment from a retired  SU stamp set .

This is a very very simple, quick card and one which I am sure could be snazzied up with embellishments .

Might do that before gifting it . But not today as I have run out of craft time .

Life is really simple, but we insist on making it                   complicated.

First challenge for the year

Hello there and welcome to my blog . Thank you for visiting .

Another hot 30  something degrees outside so after an early shopping spree it is my time to craft .

Moving Along With The Times 1st 2023 challenge  and it ends on the 30th January .

The theme is to use kraft card  for your entry . Now, I love using Kraft card bases for masculine cards ,    so this was just what I needed  for inspiration .

I am not one to provide recipes for my cards but as I would like to improve my blogging prowess so here goes ... photo first ..

A normal sized card base of Kraft card with a smaller white panel. Across the bottom of this white piece  I added some blue gingham .At the top of the white space left I stamped, in black ink , the bike image from an old SU stamp set . Around this image when dry I added some blue chalk with a cotton bud . The shield I stamped in black on Kraft card and cut out

After placing a narrow strip at the top of the gingham I 3D the shield sentiment to one side then added the stars .

Bad idea to take photo on cork back ground .

I would like to enter this card to the above challenge   https://movingalongwiththetimes.blogspot.com/2023/01/challenge-150-for-january.html

Good luck to all the other entries  and thanks to Moving Along With The Times for the venue .

Well it is Friday  whoopie the weekend follows . Have a great weekend everyone .

Always remember that you are absolutely unique.         Just like everyone else.

A collection of cards for males

Hi there, welcome  one and all .Thank you to those who commented    on last posting .

Please feel free to browse through past blogs as it has been a while since I blogged regularly . . I hope that I can keep up with creating cards and writing new pages .

It is going to be a HOT HOT week here in Adelaide SA .

Slip, Slop, Slap, Seek, Slide will be the done thing .

I do hope that the year is beginning well for you all . Having said that , there are some in our community that are experiencing just the worst time .  I hope and pray that they are receiving all the help and support they need .

Although I do have many  and varied stamps suitable for masculine cards ,I also have bought packs of diecuts of cars , bikes , planes , trains  and sign posts ,and of arrows ... you get the drift . I often use these as card toppers when my inspiration has waned . I used to feel guilty that  my card was not really  my design . Does any one else use bought diecuts ?

This is a normal sized card with an embossed panel using older SU folder

Textured Impressions Framed Tulips .A male image and sentiment  free with a magazine

Older SU papers  added  in layers to kraft card with a topper from Pinterest

Basic grey card base with layer of older SU paper Images from a very old SU stamp set .

Well if you stayed till the end ,thanks for calling in and I hope you liked the cards .Now if you do leave a word or two in the comment box , I will make a point of visiting you too .

Hi there ,my name is Shirley-Anne .

Sorry ! I was being facetious with that hello .

No blogging or visiting others for what seems to be forever .

Laziness or not feeling as though I had any thing of value to share .I am not sure which .

I certainly have picked Pinterest boards to pieces and viewed many many U-tube videos of card making .I had  been creating cards and sharing with my two besties Sandy and Jane but the urge to place photos on my  blog had waned .

But I tell you this much ..I have missed visiting blogs and adding my two cents worth in a comment when I find a treasure .

ANYWAY!

Here I go again . Hello to you all . thank you for calling in .I feel invigorated now .I have been creating ..just not blogging .My two besties Sandy and Jane had  been keeping me motivated by crafting with me one day a week .I thank them both for that . But of course the holidays and Christmas caught up with me so that there has been no crafting at all .

So I have a few cards that I will share today and then hopefully I will blog on a regular basis with new creations to share.

Firstly though here are two cards that I received for my birthday .One is an old  classic design from Jane  and the other a new design from Sandy  .

The circle card is unusual  as is the stand that
holds the pretty circle front upright . I will have to ask Sandy to show me this recipe .
Thank you to Sandy and Jane for taking me to lunch for my Birthday

Happy New year everyone .Old friends and new , warm wishes for a healthy and safe year ahead .

But now here are a couple of cards made recently ..A male card and my first Christmas card for 2023

Wow !! I had forgotten how much I have forgotten after being away from my computer and camera for so long . It took me 2 hours to work out how to get photos from camera to my computer , and place my ID on card images  and then save them .

I am exhausted now so will end this post .

           you'll start having positive results.
