A Gate Fold Card

Hello once more , dear blogging friends . Welcome to my room . Hope that you are all happy and in good health . Just the last few days my mojo went AWOL. So I have been reading,  blog browsing and flipping through my stash of card examples [ swaps] . I ended up finding inspiration  on  Sandy's blog .
Sandy has many creations other than cards and her works of art are truly worth a visit . What inspired me was her  layering of many elements on a card.
So here I am sharing with you today's card .
Cardstock is from SU . The  Old Olive  panels for gate fold have been embossed with Provo Craft Folder for added texture . I have used  a wood flourish , a butterfly , leaves and flowers from my stash  for embellishing . Oh and added self adhesive pearls in corners .
For the inside I have used Old Olive layer with pale blue piece with deckled edges touched  with gold pen. It looked a little bare so I found a precut butterfly in my stash to add to bottom corner .
I am really happy with this card today so hoping you like it too.
Catch you again soon , cheers Shirley-Anne .
Entering this into ...Moving Along With The Times  Challenge ..Make Your Dream Come True"
Because one of my many dreams is to be able to add more than a couple of elements / embellishments to a card .

Baby wipes .

Good evening every one. Hope that it has been a great day for you . We enjoyed some sunshine in Adelaide today . Short lived though it may be as rough weather  for next few days is the forecast.
Today though it was just great to see the sun .
For todays card I tried a new technique . With White Gloss card ,baby wipes and 3 reinkers .
Proper things first . Acknowledgement to http://stamptv.ning.com/video/baby-wipes-background and to Jane who sent me the link .
I have stamped onto gloss  card before using crayon  resist technique but generally don't use it a lot .
I will however be trying this again in different colours and I am here to tell you that it is dead easy .

I'll try to be brief as I show you how I achieved my creation . And after you can check out the tutorial on the link I showed you earlier . Firstly I folded a baby wipe

Now on the fold of the small pad created I used 3 ink refills , namely Mellow Moss, Sage Shadow and Certainly Celery, to place ink  dots along the edge. I got 6 dots .

Swipe the pad over card one way the turn card around , reink and swipe again .
And the result is a fantastic background . My pictures don't do it justice though . In this instance I have used Handsome Hunter inked images from Gumnut Brush , Helen Williams and Father from Lucy's Stamps.
Hope you found this interesting . Maybe you would  prefer to use small piece of cardstock to practice first .
Just a tip . Ink takes a while to dry on gloss card so make sure background is dry before stamping images .

Catch you again soon , cheers Shirley-Anne.

jac paper and mosaics inspiration

Hi  every-one. All had a good day have you? Hope so.
I have had a particularly good day . Doug and I went out  for our customery coffee  and shopping early. And after completing household  duties , I played around with scrap papers , Jac paper and Mod Podge.

Thanks Ally for the challenge you have thrown out to me .

“ I have an idea for a card using different (colour related) shapes of card for a background, probably put on jac paper,” Said she, in email . Well I hunted through Split Coast Stampers for technique then tried it for myself .
http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/stainedmosaic/
Well I have tried this before using jac paper Mod Podge and serviettes but this time used some patterned paper from SU Patterns Pack. Firstly I dabbed all over paper with light coloured ink , then I tore the paper into small odd shaped pieces . I used darker shade of same ink to edge of pieces.
Taking a piece
of jac paper just smaller than C6 card front ,
I took off top cover to reveal sticky top.

I placed pieces of paper randomly over sticky jac paper, overlapping each piece and the edges.

Using Mod Podge,  I coated the lot to seal . .now here’s where I missed a step . I should have precut to size required first and inked cut edges before coating . I left project for a while to dry Mod Podge .

Carefully, I peeled backing off underside of jac paper and layered onto green card base .

And to embellish the card front I stamped image from SU set Nature's Nest, onto some green scrap card in Chocolate Chip. I stamped same image again on white card scrap and paper pieced it over 1st image .
And here it is , finished

Hope you found it interesting .
I'll try another one soon to see if I can do better.
Thanks for calling in . Cheers for now  Shirley-Anne

Make Time

I really enjoyed creating this card tonight .
A combination of Rub-ons and flower embellishments and the stamp set 'Sense of Time SU
on a pink card with DSP , Tea Party ,SU
Ink used was Bravo Burgundy .
I have shown enlarged  area of front to show words which ,I think,  I appreciate as I am retired and have plenty of time .
Then I chose to decorate  inside  of card as shown with words from Hero Arts and I thought the greeting really related to front .

Hope  that you like this card . Thank you for browsing and please take a moment to leave a comment so I know where to find you .
Cheers Shirley-Anne

Inspired

Here you are Alisa ! Your card inspired me and I have created this to show and share . I added ribbon , stamped image twice and cut out the letter F and 3D it over 1st image and I used a large brad by cutting off legs and used Stampin Dimensials to adhere it to card front . And of course you will see that I  used different DSP and Certainly Celery strip. I inked the flourish in Rich Razzleberry for more dramatic visual.
Hope every one likes it .
Cheers Shirley-Anne
