Our Thoughts

Welcome to my room on this last day of 2010. Hello my dear blogging friends . This is the special time of day , when I turn off the outside world and immerse myself in theraputic craft time . And to enjoy the company of like minded friends does contribute to my well being , believe me !
But to todays Sympathy card . Number 4 .
Card base is White Gloss card . I tore a rectangle of green vellum and attatched to card front . Around three sides,  on the card front ,  I doodled a frame .
Under the frame and vellum , I placed sentiment  [ Arty Stamps ] in green .
Then from my craft  stash I combined these flowers and ribbon to embellish.
Have not completed the inside but when I do I will edit post and share it with you then .
catch you again soon , cheers for now , Shirley-Anne.

Deepest Sympathy

Hello , so happy you have called into my room . Welcome.
Hope that as you browse through my posts that you find something interesting or at least a creation that whets your craft appetite  and inspires you to create your own mini work of art.
Todays card is another for my Sympathy stash . Number 3.

Naturals Ivory  with  Soft Suede sponged edges is card base .
On a light blue matte I adhered some dsp from Graphic45 , then I distressed the blue edges.
On a tag from K&Company Journal Pad,  I stamped sentiment from Stamp-It , in Soft Suede. Adding some rhinestones around bottom edge and  bow at top embellished the tag before adhering to dsp. I then adhered blue matte to card front with foam tape .

For the insert I used some of the dsp and some light blue card with deckled edges which have been gold tinted . Sorry does not show in photo .
Hope you like it .
Catch you again soon , cheers for now Shirley-anne.

With Sympathy

Hi there . Hope that you are all well . Thank you so much for calling in , I really do appreciate your visit and love it if you let me know,  via a comment .
Today I would like to share another Sympathy card with you .

I am hoping that the black card base is not too severe even for a Sympathy card . Whisper White and Pumpkin Pie layers worked together to soften the black , I think . Would you agree ?
The image in Soft Suede is " Sympathy Crane"by Yvette.
Still trying to soften the card I grouped together three flowers from my stash with a SU Rhinedtone Brad centre. Then luckily I had some similar coloured rhinestones for opposite corner.
Love the E K  corner punch , which I also used for the insert .
I am so wrapped in taking photos outside where you don't need a flash . Tried to follow some advise I had from one of my viewers [ hope you know who you are ...let me know if you think of any other words of wisdom you can pass on . ]
Thanks too to Michelle who has always encouraged me to take outside shots of cards .
Scanning does not always do your cards justice I have found .
Any way love you all lots but must go .  Catch you again soon , cheers Shirley-Anne.

Would like to enter this card into   Anything Goes (NO CHRISTMAS CARDS ALLOWED!!!!!) over at

Thinking of you Today

Hello everyone . Are you having a restful few days in readiness for the New Year celebrations?
Welcome to my room , where I am trying to get back into a card a day routine .

Last nights card is the first in a series of  6  Sympathy cards I need to create for my collection .
The card base is from SU , Soft Suede, with a Whisper White mat. Layered on the white mat are a panel  of Striped DSP at top , A thin strip of Soft Suede, some green ribbon and a larger panel of Soft Suede. The bottom panel has Fiskas Punched border and three punched out leaves. I added 3 flowers and stems from my stash . I placed the sentiment , from Annabelle Stamps , on the white  between panels .
Am happy with   how this card turned out , just wished I were more of a photographer.
Catch you again soon , cheers Shirley-Anne
Am  entering this card to Michelle's Make it Monday

Favourite 5 Christmas cards for 2010

Hello every-one . Hope that you are all resting now after the last few hectic days . Welcome to my room where I have been chillin' out while Doug is dozing.
I have been blog  browsing and found Deb's
Deb has offered some candy for a randomly chosen blogger who links their 5 favourite Christmas cards made for 2010.
Check out  Deb's  post
My first is using the topnote diecut , which I love and have found a popular seller .

The second.  I loved the stocking image which I stamped on card first and then again on scrap card to paper pieced and layered on top .I loved using DecorArt Snow-Tex on top of stocking .

The third . I began this card with the ribbon in mind and the rest just followed.

The next two images are of the fourth card . I chose this one because of the' pop up'  inside .

And lastly the fifth card .
And again because I love stockings . This one I could 3D the teddy in the pocket and the stars. I also liked the embossed background and felt that although it is a small card it packed a punch.
All my cards are quick and simple which is definately my style .
So without further ado I will link  these to Deb's challenge.  There are already heaps of entries and all are inspirational.
Maybe you would have chosen different cards from my " Christmas Wishes " postings.
Catch you again soon , cheers Shirley-anne .

Patchy Daisy

Hello My Blogger Friends . Welcome to my room .
Hope that you had a Wonderful Christmas Day and that you recovered well  today .
Was a sunny day here in Adelaide today , just right for a " gopher walk" for Hubby and me. If I were to give thanks ...and I do, it would be to say how grateful I am to be healthy and reasonably strong . For without these gifts / blessings I would not be able to care / support Doug through his recovery. We are just so happy that he is home . While he was resting this afternoon I had some " me " time and created this card .
The flower is from Stamp-It , Patchy Daisy Large . I used Peach Parfait ink  and a selection of SU card stock . The ribbon from my stash . The embossed layer created with Cuttlebug folder given to me as Chrissy Pressy from Sandy .

The simple  insert , is a Whisper White panel with small daisys from Hero Arts, Tiny Thank You set ,  in corners . The panel of DSP  on edge can be seen from front of card. as the  front is not as wide as back .
It was great to be back in my room for a short time today and I hope that you like the result too.
Hope to see you again soon , catch you later , Shirley-anne.
